Women in sports, particularly in women's football, still face significant constraints in showcasing their skills, whether directly related to playing on the field or managing the sport. Expanding the opportunities for these women to transfer their 'sports-centric' skills to the private sector can serve as a powerful channel to help narrow the gender leadership gap. We are delighted to welcome Joyce Kibet as a speaker at the Africa Football Business Summit 2024. Joyce is a Regional Advisor and Consultant specializing in Gender Economics, Gender Governance, and partnerships between Non-profit and For-profit sectors. With over ten years of experience, she fosters innovative collaborations between the Global South and the Global North, emphasizing gender perspectives for impactful outcomes. As the Founding Director of Business Advantage in Nairobi, Kenya, Joyce supports African women in developing resilient business strategies that integrate social impact. She has collaborated with organizations such as the United Nations Great Lakes Region and held leadership roles, including National Chair of the @ICGLR-RWF Kenya Chapter and Business Development Advisor for the East Africa Chamber of Commerce. Joyce is also a member of the International Trade Centre Women in International Trade Council, an Honorary Ambassador and Thought Leader with the International Women's Think Tank (USA), and has been recognized with the Executive Leadership Impact Award from the Integrity International Trade & Business Network (USA). She holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business Administration from the United States International University - Africa and several professional development certificates, including Women in Ceasefire Negotiations, Reading and Interpreting International Trade Agreements—The Case of #AfCFTA, and Negotiating Social Impact Investment. Joyce promotes innovative partnership strategies, co-creation, multi-stakeholder knowledge sharing, and gender-inclusive strategies for authentic global impact. Welcome, Joyce! #AFBSummit #AFBS2024 #WomenInSports #TransformingOurGame 👉 Secure your spot today and be part of the future of African football! https://lnkd.in/dk57HVEN

Silk Production in #Zambia 🇿🇲 About 100Kms West of #Zambia’s Capital #Lusaka. Is a farm with a 250 Hectare stretch of Mulberry Trees. Mulberry Fruits aren’t the core business at the farm. #Silk is. Thousands of worms feed on the Mulberry Tree Leaves before turning into Silk Cocoons. The farm, once a piece of Virgin Land, has been turned into a profitable Silk Producing Farm. #Silk originated in #China nearly 5000 years ago. The Farm owner has a vision to get Small-scale growers together to form a #Cooperative. He is currently using his farm as a training facility with a vision of exporting #Zambian silk all over the world. Silk from the farm is being used to make Silk #Duvets. #Jam from the fruits, and Green Tea from the leaves, are also other Value Added products that can be made from Mulberry Trees. 🌱 Bridging the Gap: Export Priorities vs. Domestic Nutrition Needs 🌱 The disparity between export priorities and domestic nutritional needs reveals a complex challenge that demands our attention. Why do countries export their finest agricultural goods while citizens struggle to access high-quality produce? 🔍 Approach to Addressing This Issue: Governments and stakeholders in the agricultural sector must align their export strategies with domestic nutritional needs. Prioritizing local food security is crucial for a balanced approach. By implementing policies that balance export revenues with the availability of nutritious food locally, we can track improvements in food security and price stability. Through collaboration and ethical agricultural practices, it is possible to meet both international market demands and local nutritional needs without compromising one for the other. Ensuring that local communities have access to affordable, high-quality produce is not just an economic issue—it's a matter of social responsibility and justice. Immediate action is needed to address this divide. Ambi Light Up advocates for policies that prioritize local food security, aiming for significant progress within the next agricultural cycle. Let's work together to create a future where economic gains and local food security go hand in hand. 🌍🌾 #AgriculturalJustice #SustainableDevelopment #AmbiLightUp #FoodSecurity #EthicalAgriculture
