Fallout: London is a total conversion mod for the 2015 video game Fallout 4 developed by Team Colon. The fan-made game is set in London, United Kingdom, in 2237. After being delayed three months from its original intended release, the mod was released on July 25th, 2024, quickly garnering virality and attention online.

History

On January 15th, 2019, developer team Team Folon announced[1] Fallout: London, a total conversion mod for the 2015 role-playing video game Fallout 4 set in the post-apocalyptic city of London.

On June 15th, 2021, the reveal trailer for the game premiered on YouTube[2] (shown below, left). On May 18th, 2022, the official gameplay trailer for the game premiered on YouTube,[3] accruing over 3.3 million views in two years (shown below, right).



The mod was originally scheduled for release in April 2024, but was delayed by an update to Fallout 4.[4]
The mod was released on July 25th, 2024. On that day, the official launch trailer for the game premiered on YouTube[5] (shown below).



Gameplay and Features

Unlike every official installment of the Fallout franchise, Fallout: London is set in the United Kingdom, with the map, covering the London capital and its vicinity, being nearly the same size as Fallout 4. The game is set in 2237.

The base gameplay of Fallout: London is identical to Fallout 4, with the player starting by assigning points to their S.P.E.C.I.A.L. skill and choosing up to two traits before departing on their journey through the Wasteland. The game features an extended dialogue system meant to make player's choices more impactful.[6]

The mod, which offers 200 quests and an estimated 90 hours of gameplay, features a variety of new weapons and enemies.



Fandom

On July 25th, 2024, earliest memes referencing the mod saw spread online. For example, on that day X user @_mindfuzz_ posted an edit of Prince Philipp as a ghoul NPC captioned, "Fallout London is pretty cool!" The post (shown below) garnered over 50 reposts and 410 likes in one day.

Seems to have it's fair share of issues.

Sometimes if you draw your weapon the guards will aggro on you instead of your attacker. Doesn't help that you'll get some cutthroat around every corner, even where it's supposed to be "safe".

There are a lot of containers along the streets, but they're hard to get into without good lock-picking, and all they ever have in them are knives and other melee weapons.

With all of these injuries it'd be nice to find a good doctor, but they flat out ignore your injuries. Waiting is supposed to fix this issue, but I'm not sure if I can afford to.

Anyways, this fallout mod looks cool. If I survive this trip to London I'll probably check it out.
