Today, we released our report on The European Banking Authority's (EBA) final guidelines on the Travel Rule. These guidelines, set to be implemented this year alongside the Transfer of Funds Regulation (TFR) (EU) 2023/1113 on December 31, define the procedures and application methods for VASPs (Virtual Asset Service Providers or CASPs) to comply with the regulations. CODE indicates its readiness to address these requirements with the following key features: Procedures for Handling Incomplete Information The EBA guidelines specify that procedures must be established for managing transfers with incomplete information. CODE offers a "Find VASP by TXID" feature, which allows VASPs to verify and supplement missing transaction information through the TXID. System Integration Ease Emphasizing smooth information transfer between parties and considering ML/TF risks during integration, CODE is implemented as a system easily integrable via API and the IVMS101 (InterVASP Messaging Standard 101) messaging protocol. Integrating with CODE also includes a due diligence assessment to establish a reliable Travel Rule compliance network. Self-Hosted Wallet Information Verification The EBA mandates internal regulations for self-hosted wallets, also known as personal wallets, requiring VASPs to manage and comply with the Travel Rule for these wallets. CODE offers services to distinguish self-hosted wallets, and through our partnerships with data analysis providers, allows for VASP to regulate risky wallets. GDPR Compliant Security System Emphasizing complete GDPR compliance when handling personal data, CODE employs an end-to-end encrypted API to maintain a high level of security and protect user data. Today, CODE’s CTO Sean Ju represented us at the IXO Web3 Roadshow. His presentation, “Blockchain Exchanges + Travel Rule”, gave an introduction on the FATF Travel Rule recommendations and how CODE is enabling VASPs to comply with the current regulations. Great job today! South Korea was the first to enforce Travel Rule regulations in March 2022. Due to this, CODE was founded to provide VASPs with a safe and stable solution to comply with the newly enacted Travel Rule regulations.
