HD Hyundai Heavy Industries(HHI) won its 21st consecutive gold medal at the 47th WorldSkills Competition in Lyon, France. HHI's has sent three contestants for the competition and all three won the prize. Kim Jun-su(20) won a gold medal for 'CNC Turning' occupation, Kang do-young(20) won a silver medal for 'Plumbing and Heating', and Kim Dong-hyeon (20) won a bronze medal for 'Construction Metal work'.  HHI's unprecedented records are possible not only through the players' efforts but also its systematic support such as one-on-one customized training with former medalists. HHI will continue to provide various support to foster professional technicians.

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries(HHI) held the '2024 HD Hyundai Symposium-Electrification of Warship' on September 2 at Ulsan. At the meeting, 150 participants, including naval officials and international experts on all-electric warships from the UK, the US, and Italy, shared the ideas. Previously, HHI successfully completed the basic design of the Korean Next Generation Destroyer 'KDDX'. It will be equipped with the world's first 25MW high-capacity and high-power propulsion motor.

The first foreign site leader born! The numbers of foreign workers with a big dream of working at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries(HHI) are increasing recently. Mr. Kumara, from Sri Lanka, was appointed as the team leader at HHI's in-house partner. Coming to Korea in 2011, he is now the leader of 28 team members. Mr. Kumara is the first foreigner to be a site team leader at HHI. Currently, more than 4,000 foreigners from many contries are working at the HHI. HHI plans to continue to foster technical personnel from oveseas and will provide various opportunities for them to develop their careers.

U.S. Ambassador to S. Korea Philip S. Goldberg Visits HHI in Ulsan U.S. Ambassador Philip S. Goldberg, U.S. Consul General Nolan Barkhouse and his delegation visited HD Hyundai Heavy Industries(HHI) on July 15th. The visit was made after Ambassador Goldberg expressed his desire to tour HHI, the world's No. 1 shipbuilder. During the visit , Ambassador Goldberg and Kisun Chung, vice chairman of HD Hyundai had an in-depth conversation about mutual interests especially naval ship business and MRO field. "I think HD Hyundai has a lot of potential to not only commercial ship but also warship sector. " said Ambassador Goldberg. HHI recently became the first Korean company to sign a Master Ship Repair Agreement(MSRA) with the U.S. Naval Supply Systems Command.

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries(HHI) and seven affiliates of HD Hyundai participated in 'Posidonia 2024' in Athens, Greece, from June 3rd to 7th. HHI operates the Korean exhibition hall, displaying eco-friendly ship models, methanol-powered VLCCs, and next-generation low-carbon fuel-related technologies. In addition, a dual-fuel HiMSEN engine and a LNG carrier model were on displayed.

Canadian business delegation visits HD hyundai's Global Research and Development Center (GRC) to explore ways to cooperate on defense vessel building business A delegation of Canadian companies from the defense and IT sectors visited HD Hyundai's GRC to learn more about the capabilities of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries in the warship building business and explore ways to cooperate. A total of sixteen CEOs from Canada's leading defence and IT companies visited the GRC in Pangyo, Gyeonggi-do, on the afternoon of Monday, April 22. Yong-yeol Park, Executive Vice President of HHI's naval and special ship business unit, guided the delegation to introduce HD HHI's capabilities in the defense shipbuilding business and discuss future cooperation plans.

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries(HHI) recently signed a co-production agreement with Peruvian Navy for 4(four) naval ships which will be built in state-owned shipbuilder SIMA Peru S.A. The total contract amount is KRW 640.6 billion which marks the largest naval ship order placed by a Latin American country with a Korean shipbuilder. HHI will be responsible for the design, supply of parts and provision of technological support.

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries(HHI) held a signing ceremony for the delivery of its 3,000-ton submarine JANGBOGO-Ⅲ Batch-I No. 3 SHINCHAEHO at its Ulsan headquarters today. About 20 government officials from a total of nine countries, including Canada, Australia, Peru, the United States, the Philippines, Poland, Colombia, Ecuador, and the United Kingdom, attended the meeting to confirm the excellence of the K-ship. SHINCHAEHO is a submarine designed and built independently with HHI's own technology, incorporating the latest advancements to greatly improve the submarine's operational sustainability, covertness, and survivability. In addition, various armed operations such as guided missiles, torpedoes, and mines are possible. HD Hyundai Heavy Industries(HHI) has received a US $463 million order in Peru to jointly build four warships with a local shipyard by 2029. It is the largest-ever defense export to Latin America by a domestic company. Peru's state-owned shipbuilder SIMA Peru S.A. placed the order for joint production of one 3,400-ton frigate, one 2,200-ton OPV(Offshore Patrol Vessel), and two 1,500-ton LCU(Landing Craft Unit)s to the Peruvian Navy at its shipyard.

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries(HHI) opened a naval ship engineering office in Manila, Philippine, on March 6. HHI plans to provide technical services optimized for local demand. In addition HHI will provide technical support and warranty repair consulting for delivered ships.
