In 2024, we transported the largest volume of oranges on this route, securing a 33% market share with 2,982 TEU. Using advanced Reefer Containers and Ultra-Freezer technology, we keep the oranges fresh during the trans-Pacific journey. #HMMnews | HMM's Onboard Carbon Capture System (#OCCS) is finally ready for operational testing! OCCS is an advanced technology designed to capture CO2 during vessel operations, preventing its release into the atmosphere. After conducting a feasibility study since April last year with SHI (Samsung Heavy Industries), Korean Register, and PANASIA, we are now set to test OCCS on HMM Mongla, a 2,200 TEU containership. #HMMnews | HMM and IKEA Supply Chain Operations have signed an agreement to use the 'Green Sailing Service', a low-carbon transport solution. This partnership will enable both companies to reduce their environmental impact and contribute to the decarbonization of ocean transportation. At the core of this initiative is the significant reduction of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) emissions, achieved by substituting conventional fossil fuels with environmentally responsible, waste-based biofuels for the ocean transportation of IKEA products. The 'Green Sailing Service' allows customers to proactively reduce their carbon footprint and effectively address Scope 3 emissions. Scope 3 emissions arise from activities involving assets not owned or controlled by the reporting organization but which the organization indirectly affects in its value chain.
