Snack wrappers typically aren’t accepted by local recycling services because they’re hard to recycle. They’re often made of layers of different materials (like plastic and aluminum), and they’re very lightweight, so special equipment and processes are needed to recycle them. We are honored that we were recently selected as one of five finalists for the "Environmental Stewardship" category of the .ORG Impact Awards, from more than 1,700 applicants! The .ORG Impact Awards, an Public Interest Registry initiative, recognize the profound impact happening in communities across the globe. Although we did not win the award, it was an immense honor to be recognized as a global leader in reducing the flow of plastic waste from rivers and canals before it can reach the ocean.
