Out of 184 entries for this year's at Natural Robotics Contest, the winning entry, the pangolin – dubbed "Plantolin" – came from a California High School Student by the name of Dorothy...This has been brought to life by engineers at the University of Surrey in the United Kingdom. Powered by DYNAMIXEL • The Plantolin robot, inspired by pangolins, is designed to plant tree seeds by digging holes and depositing seed "bombs." • Created by a California high school student, it won the University of Surrey's Natural Robotics Contest. • The bot balances on two wheels, uses motorized legs with claws for digging, and disperses seeds through an internal conveyor system. • Its design aims to support forest restoration by mimicking the natural digging behavior of pangolins.
