AVO/AVA Analysis AVO (Amplitude Variation with Offset) is a seismic method that can help determine the fluid content in rocks, porosity, density, seismic velocity, shear wave information and other fluid indicators. This method has been successfully used to predict hydrocarbon reservoirs (especially gas) and lithology. Analysis using AVO or AVA (Amplitude Variation with Angle) studies the dependence of the amplitudes of the reflected waves on the distance or angle of wave incidence on the reflecting boundary.
