We are overjoyed to share the incredible story of a brave baby from Bangladesh and the power of community support. This little one needed urgent medical care for severe pulmonary hypertension, but his father couldn’t afford the NICU costs in Lebanon. Thanks to the unwavering support and funding from ASSAMEH Birth & Beyond, this baby was admitted to Karantina Governmental Hospital. Under the expert care of a dedicated medical team, he received the essential treatment he desperately needed, almost completely free of charge. A young girl developed severe complications at a peripheral hospital, resulting in HUS and kidney injury. Despite the risks, we brought her to our PICU, where our nephrologist, Dr. RG, made the crucial decision to start dialysis. Our pediatric surgeon, Dr. RM, skillfully inserted a peritoneal catheter, allowing us to start treatment immediately. Thanks to their rapid intervention and the dedication of our entire team, the girl's kidney function has returned to normal. She no longer requires dialysis and will soon be discharged home, fully recovered. Dr Sacy through his association ASSAMEH birth & beyond taught us to never let a baby die because of financial problems, ethnicity, or lack of documentation and we are committed to continuing his legacy. **************************** This baby from Bangladesh was born in another hospital and developed respiratory distress. Due to financial constraints, the family couldn't afford the fees at the other hospital. We transferred him in our ambulance, treated him, and today, he is leaving our hospital in good health. Il y aura toujours de l'espoir ! Nous marcherons ensemble, unis, pour garantir que cet hôpital reste un lieu où tous les bébés sont accueillis et tous les cas sont traités. Dr Sacy, à travers son association ASSAMEH Birth & Beyond, nous a appris à ne jamais laisser un bébé mourir à cause de problèmes financiers, de ses origines ethniques ou socioculturelles.
