HubSpot uses Customer Data to build AI models to power HubSpot AI Products. Read more below and review our Customer Terms of Service, including our Product Specific Terms, for more information about the HubSpot AI Products and the terms that may apply.
This page is provided for information purposes only and is not included as part of the HubSpot Customer Terms of Service. It is not intended to provide legal advice, and HubSpot encourages our customers to consult with their own lawyers to understand the legal obligations applicable to their business. The information here is subject to change.
HubSpot uses Customer Data to build AI models that power features across the platform. To build models that help our customers grow, we may need to use Customer Data that includes personal data.
You may opt-out of having your Customer Data used to build AI models by having a super admin on your account email privacy@hubspot.com. You will still be able to use HubSpot AI Products.
No. Your HubSpot account will remain opted-out.
Yes. Some of our AI Products are powered by third parties.
OpenAI provides the underlying technology for AI assistant (formally known as content assistant) and ChatSpot. When you use AI assistant or ChatSpot and submit prompts, the information you input as a prompt will be shared with OpenAI.
OpenAI will not use your prompts to train or improve their models. OpenAI will use your prompts for content moderation purposes and will delete those prompts after 30 days. You can learn more about how OpenAI uses your prompts by reviewing OpenAI's enterprise privacy center and FAQ’s on data use.
OpenAI is a sub-processor listed in the HubSpot Sub-Processors Page.
When you input information as prompts in AI assistant or ChatSpot, those prompts may include Customer Data. For example, if you ask ChatSpot to add a contact to your CRM, the prompt will be processed by HubSpot and shared with OpenAI as described above. If you do not want to share Customer Data or other sensitive information with OpenAI, do not include that information in your prompt.
When you use some of our AI Products (e.g., AI assistant and ChatSpot) your prompts, generated content, and usage metrics will be logged as well as stored by HubSpot for product improvements. If you have opted out of HubSpot using your Customer Data to build AI models, HubSpot will not use your prompt data for these purposes.
No, HubSpot’s third party service providers will not use HubSpot Customer Data to train their models.
For some specific features, (e.g., like AI assistant and ChatSpot), a super-admin can navigate to the specific feature settings page and toggle the feature off or on. You can learn more about AI assistant in the Content Assistant FAQs. You can learn more about ChatSpot in the ChatSpot FAQs.
Between you and HubSpot, you retain all rights you have in your generated content (or outputs) and we retain our rights in the AI Products. This means you can use your output for any purpose, including commercial purposes such as sale or publication.
At the same time, it’s important to understand that outputs may not be unique across users (i.e., similar inputs can create similar outputs). They also might not be accurate or complete. You are responsible for checking your outputs and should always review them before using or sharing.
