August has always been a special month for me for many reasons. On August 30, 2021, I received my visa approval to pursue my dream of earning a Master’s degree in Germany, and just a day later, on August 31, 2021, I received an offer letter to join bitsCrunch. Now, August 30, 2024, marks my last day at bitsCrunch. A man who believed in me and encouraged me to join as an intern from India, with the assurance that once I started my studies in Germany, I would receive a German contract as a working student. Back then, I didn’t realize the true worth of what he was offering me. But now, having experienced the struggles of student life in Germany, I realize just how valuable his words were. True to his word, when I began my studies, I received my working student contract. He even told me I would have the opportunity to do my thesis with the company as part of my Master’s studies. Again, I overlooked the significance of this until I saw the difficulties other students faced in securing thesis topics from German companies. I have been incredibly fortunate in so many ways. You might say that these are opportunities anyone could offer, but there's more. Earlier this year, I had to go home for some reasons. I reached out to this man and asked if I could work from India for two weeks. He said, "Thambi, go ahead now; everything else can wait." I ended up working from India for three months while simultaneously working on my master thesis, and not once did he ask me when I would return. I have never met anyone like him. The man who has given me more than I could have ever asked for. The man is none other than Vijay Pravin Maharajan. I am deeply grateful for all your love and support that you have shown me throughout my time at bitsCrunch. I would always love to collaborate with you in the future. My manager, Ashok Varadharajan, is an excellent motivator who always encouraged me to learn new things and helped me improve my coding by showing me how to write clean, structured code with good practices. My project manager, Gopi Kannappan, was exceptionally supportive and friendly, always approachable. I also want to thank Mani Kandan A, my team lead, who has always supported me at work. His influence on my work helps push me towards achieving my best and ensuring tasks are completed. My senior data engineers, Vijay Channappa, Sisilia A stressed the importance of understanding the 'why' behind our actions and decisions, encouraging us to think critically and make informed choices, which greatly contributed to my growth. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to My chief data scientist, Saravanan Jaichandaran and Data science lead, Felix A for his invaluable guidance, continuous support, and insightful feedback throughout completing my master’s thesis. As I reflect on these past 3 years, I am truly thankful for all the support and kindness I’ve received here. The journey has been rewarding, and the memories will hold a special place in my heart.

But there was a nagging feeling inside, urging me to take a leap of faith. So, I did it. I quit my well-paying job at Siemens, leaving behind the comfort and security of corporate life. At 29, I took that leap of faith and decided to start bitsCrunch. Now, we've raised 100 Crores and have been growing successfully ever since. I'm sharing this because sometimes, we’re too scared or wired to trust our intuition and take that leap. But I promise, just do it. You'll be fine as long as you have the passion within you. If you're looking for a sign to take that leap of faith—whether it's quitting a job you're uncomfortable with, applying for a position you're worried you're not qualified for, or approaching someone you’ve always admired—then this post is that sign.
