👋Every long-distance race comes to an end. After 34 years at thyssenkrupp and 15 of those as CEO of the automotive business, Dr. Karsten Kroos says farewell to thyssenkrupp as he enters his well-deserved retirement.
🏎️Since its establishment, Dr. Kroos shaped our businesses into a global portfolio of strong and globally recognized supplier companies. These companies now benefit from their innovative strength and a highly international production network that provides employment for over 30,000 employees at over 90 locations. Dr. Kroos took over the responsibility for the automotive activities of thyssenkrupp, including the commercial vehicle and industrial businesses, in 2009, amid the global economic and financial crisis. Portfolio changes, restructuring, but above all innovation and transformation were on the agenda from the outset.
🎯With the goal of ensuring thyssenkrupp Automotive Technology’s future viability by developing products that are closely aligned with customer needs internationally, Karsten Kroos got to work. The strong thyssenkrupp brand, is a testament, among other things, of how Dr. Kroos helped expanding our spectrum from a component supplier towards system expertise, which today also includes mechatronics and software know-how. In this context, Dr. Karsten Kroos placed particular emphasis on a trust-building dialog with our customers.
💐Dr. Kroos sends his heartfelt thanks to all AT employees, whose skills, knowledge and commitment, help us get a little closer to our goals every day.
👋Finally, Dr. Karsten Kroos and thyssenkrupp Automotive Technology would like to welcome Dr. Volkmar Dinstuhl as the CEO of the automotive business and wish him much success.
🚗The last words come from Dr. Karsten Kroos directly: “It is not easy to say goodbye after such a long time together, a time of challenges and successes, a time of ups and downs. Above all, one thing will remain in my memory: the people who have competed with me and for thyssenkrupp in all these years.” 💙🤍
Thank you Dr. Karsten Kroos!
