I'm incredibly grateful to ChoKoLAATe for inviting me to speak to the exceptionally bright Grade 12 students of Methodist College, Colombo, on the topic of psychological professional behaviors in universities and the workplace. The session began with an exploration of the essence of 'Psych,' highlighting that “Professionalism is not the job you do, it’s how you do the job.” Sharing my personal professional story was a deeply meaningful experience. I recounted how my grandmother’s values shaped my career, particularly during a challenging year of my mental life, illustrating the impact of our actions and choices on career growth. We discussed the importance of time management, punctuality, and effective communication skills, essential for teamwork and navigating both academic and professional environments. We jumped into adaptability and flexibility, drawing inspiration from Viktor Frankl's resilience in Nazi concentration camps, and the profound lessons from his book, "Man's Search for Meaning." This discussion underscored the power of finding purpose in adversity. I also highlighted the importance of integrity and ethical behavior through the lens of the Stanford Prison Experiment, emphasizing the need for strong ethical standards in all our endeavors. The session concluded with a focus on lifelong learning and its critical role in professional development. I shared practical steps for creating a personal development plan, encouraging the students to continuously assess their goals, identify skill gaps, set SMART goals, seek resources, create learning schedules, and periodically review and adjust their plans. It was an honor to inspire these amazing bunch of beautiful ladies, sharing insights on professionalism, resilience, and the pursuit of lifelong learning, and witnessing their enthusiasm and readiness to embrace their professional journeys with dedication and purpose.

Participating as a delegate volunteer for the Future Fusion event on June 22, 2024, at SLIIT KANDY UNI was an extraordinary journey! As part of my role with AIESCE in NIBM, I was responsible for coordinating delegates from across Sri Lanka. I used my language skills in Sinhala, Tamil, and English to assist and manage delegates, ensuring their smooth participation in the event. Managing over 300 delegates for 3 days, including their registrations, arrivals, departures, safety, and immediate inquiries, was a challenging but rewarding experience. The task involved coordinating delegates who traveled from far and wide, often facing last-minute cancellations, breakdowns, and various issues. Despite these challenges, we successfully managed to deliver an impactful event on June 22. Special thanks to our esteemed guests, Minister Jeevan Thondaman, Mr. Kumara Sangakkara, Mr. Dilantha Malagamuwa, and Mr. Nalin Karunarathne. Grateful to our amazing sponsors: - Platinum sponsors: CBL Group and HEMAS HOLDINGS PLC - Bronze partner: Bank of Ceylon - Media partner: FOS Media - Banner Partner: Sunshine Holdings PLC - Logistics Partner: Colombo Conferences (Private) Limited - Networking partners: G17 Global and The Road to Rights - Digital media partners: SL WebCast , HILK.media and ChoKoLAATe - PR partner: Good PR - Printed media partner: The Sunday Times - Official gift partner: Pearl Bay and Thousand Petals - Official Broadcasting Partner: Siyatha TV A big shout-out to the main Contributors- SLIIT KANDY UNI, University of Peradeniya, Ministry of Water Supply and Estate Infrastructure Development, and AIESEC in Sri Lanka - for making this event possible. This volunteering experience has significantly enriched my personal and professional growth. Excited for more opportunities like this in the future! #FutureFusion2024 #AIESEC #VolunteerExperience #PersonalGrowth #Leadership #EventCoordination
