The Golden Days of Ubuntu: A Global Effort to Spread Open-Source Technology In the early days of Ubuntu, it was more than just software...it was a movement. The Ubuntu Community, supported by Linux fans worldwide and funded by the US government, worked hard to spread this powerful, open-source operating system to as many people as possible. One of the most amazing things about this effort was that Ubuntu CDs were sent out for free, all over the world. I still remember those days clearly. I got a big box of Ubuntu CDs and felt proud to share them with the Sri Lankan community. It was an exciting time, as we introduced people to an operating system that was reliable, easy to use, and, most importantly, free. Even today, Ubuntu is still a strong and useful operating system. Its legacy continues, not just in the software, but in the spirit of community and teamwork that helped it grow from a simple idea into something global. #hostasia #codewox
