European Artificial Intelligence Act and Accessibility: A Brief Analysis 🇪🇺🤖 The EU's introduction of the AI Act, amid the latest technological trends, has sparked considerable debate. 💡 Let's examine how inclusive this legislation is from an accessibility perspective: 1. Non-discrimination and quality of data: 📊 For High-risk AI systems, the act enforces the use of high-quality and diverse data, to include a larger diversity of training data, to minimize the risk of discrimination. 2. Transparency requirements: 🔍 AI systems should be transparent about their capabilities and limitations, which can help users with disabilities make informed decisions about using these technologies. 3. Human oversight: 👮 The Act mandates human oversight for certain AI systems, which can help ensure that the needs of users with disabilities are considered in AI decision-making processes. However, we will need to rely on overseeing human accessibility and inclusivity training. 4. Accessibility of AI-generated content: 📝 While not explicitly stated in earlier drafts, there may be provisions related to ensuring AI-generated content (like text, images, or audio) is accessible if used in publicly accessible websites, applications, or documents. This will directly correlate with EAA (European Accessibility Act). While the AI Act takes important steps towards inclusivity, there's still a lot to improve regarding accessibility, inclusion, and anti-discrimination measures. We look forward to seeing how these regulations evolve to better serve all users. 🚀♿️ #AIEthics #Accessibility #EuropeanAIAct #InclusiveTechnology #AIRegulation #Kloosive Image description: a 3d illustration on a black background with a digital emoji finger pointing to a rectangle with text 'regulations' and an icon of scales. Do not rely on luck. Our team is prepared to assist you in evaluating and enhancing the accessibility of your website. Don’t look at it as a deadline, better as an opportunity.
