We're expanding our horizons! 💪 Our team had a great experience at Horizon Europe Digital Brokerage Event in Riga. Thanks to everyone who listened to our pitch and gave us valuable feedback. Let's hope it will be a beginning to new exciting partnerships ahead! 🙌
I'm slow and bureaucratic, requiring a consortium to proceed. But with patience and collaboration, immense rewards are guaranteed. What am I? 🤔 If you guessed the 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞 project, you're spot on! Together with Eva Brazdzionyte, I dove into this complex world hands-on at the Horizon Europe Digital Brokerage Event in Riga. 💬 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 The best thing was being in the same room with highly inspirational, motivated, and innovation-driven experts from business, academia, and beyond. People shared openly - the wins, the challenges, all of it. 🌟 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 Our Perfection42 presentation received great feedback, but the real inspiration came from hearing nearly 20 unique pitches across different industries. Being able to talk to people right after the session reminded me that the best way to understand complex things is by talking to those who are more experienced. The event left us with a hefty homework list! Research, networking, and planning is full on. Do you have experience with large EU funding grants? How was it for you? Any advice?

Įgyvendiname projektą „UAB „Perfectionai“ inovatyvaus produkto kūrimas naudojant atvirus duomenis“, projekto Nr. 02-045-K-0042, kurio pagrindinis tikslas – sukurti inovatyvią sistemą, skirtą įmonėms, dalyvaujančioms viešuosiuose pirkimuose, kuri naudos atvirus duomenis. Kuriama platforma padės spręsti tiekėjų problemas, susijusias su laiko, žmogiškųjų išteklių ir finansinių resursų panaudojimu dalyvaujant viešuosiuose pirkimuose. Bendra projekto vertė 140 000,00 Eur, iš kurių 70 000,00 Eur skirta ES finansavimo lėšų. Projektas pradėtas 2024 m. rugsėjo 26 d. ir bus įgyvendintas iki 2026 m. kovo 31 d. Projektas bendrai finansuojamas 2021–2027 metų Europos Sąjungos fondų investicijų programos lėšomis.

According to The Brainy Insights, the 3D rendering market is growing at a CAGR of 27.67% and is expected to reach USD 34.57 billion by 2032. 🚀 As a result, AI-driven tools are becoming essential in establishing rendering industry standards. Looking at the most used tools in the industry, we see that they currently support upscaling to 2K or 4K. However, custom tools trained on both personalized and diverse data are yielding results that surpass these standards. Perfection42 has developed a denoiser capable of handling up to 10K resolution using advanced upscaling techniques. Our tool sets new benchmarks for image quality, simplifying the rendering process and allowing artists to focus on creativity rather than technical details.

The global generative AI animation market is expected to skyrocket from $1.3 billion in 2023 to $28.1 billion by 2033, with a CAGR of 36.2%! 🌍 AI tools are at the heart of this growth, enhancing speed, efficiency, and ROI by 20% to 50%. Instead of replacing human creativity, generative AI is empowering artists, streamlining workflows, and making high-quality animation more accessible. Yet, integrating AI into traditional animation pipelines isn't easy: It requires millions of dollars, thousands of hours, and a steep learning curve. But the payoff is worth it. AI adoption can cut production time and costs by 30% to 50%, making it a game-changer for competitiveness.

Why data is important when training AI? Short answer: quality data provides you with quality output. In this case, we have to talk about neural networks. They learn by looking at lots of examples. If the network sees a picture of a dog and we tell it, "This is a dog," it knows that pattern. The more examples it sees, the better it gets at guessing. It keeps adjusting its math until it's really good at predicting or recognizing things, like telling which image contains a certain breed of dog and which one is a cookie.

The bad news: deepfakes are getting more sophisticated. The good news: here are a few details you can keep in mind to detect fake photos: 🟡 Unnatural eye and mouth details. Deepfake images often have eyes that look too glossy or lifeless and teeth that are unnaturally aligned. Check for any inconsistencies in reflections in the eyes. 🟡 Inconsistent lighting and shadows. In still images, look for inconsistent lighting on the face versus the rest of the photo. Shadows might be missing or in the wrong places, indicating manipulation. 🟡 Edge blurring and unnatural-looking hairlines. 🟡 Digital artifacts, such as pixelation or distortions, especially around complex areas like glasses, jewelry, or fine hair details. 🟡 Pay attention to the background elements for signs of editing. Look for blurred backgrounds, inconsistent focus, or elements that appear out of place. Any other tips? Share below!

This summer is all about celebrating athletes participating in the Olympics and Paralympics! ☀️ And, of course, we couldn’t help but notice some of the AI applications during the games. As the Official Timekeeper for the Olympic Games, OMEGA SA delivered timing and scoring services for all 329 Olympic events in Paris across 32 sports and has introduced several innovations to provide audiences with more in-depth data than ever before. According to Alain Zobrist, the CEO of OMEGA Timing: “The [latest AI] technologies allow us to really tell the full story of an athlete's performance and explain their results in much greater detail, understanding where they gained or lost time or points.” In two years, we’ll have the Winter Olympics in Milano – what other AI innovations could we expect to see?

With the latest technologies, you can bring old shots back to life. 📷 The documentary film ‘They Shall Not Grow Old’, directed by Peter Jackson, is a great example of groundbreaking restoration techniques. The film's creators used manual techniques, such as frame stabilization, frame rate correction, colorization, and sound effects. What’s great is that similar results can now be achieved more efficiently with AI, including the following techniques: 🟡 Image super-resolution. AI models like ESRGAN (Enhanced Super-Resolution Generative Adversarial Networks) can upscale low-resolution images, adding details and reducing noise. 🟡 Colorization. AI tools such as DeOldify and Google's DeepAI can automatically colorize black-and-white photos with impressive accuracy. 🟡 Image inpainting. AI fills in missing or damaged parts of images, using models like GANs to predict and reconstruct the missing data. 🟡 Frame interpolation. For video restoration, AI can interpolate frames to correct frame rates and smooth out motion, making old footage appear more fluid. To see some production shots of ‘They Shall Not Grow Old’, check the video below.
