🐣 🌷 Get excited about rustic Easter candles made of egg shells! 😍 ♻ 🥚 This beautiful celebration is just around a corner! It is time for the day full of crafts and upcycling! 🌾 🌿 🌱 Let's get started: 1️⃣ Gather the things you have in your fridge and in your garden, forest or park near by: egg shells and empty egg carton box, moss, flowers and greenery of your choice. 📦 🌷 🌱 2️⃣ Get leftovers of your soy wax candles, candle wicks, toothpicks, wood wool or anything similar. Process of making it: 3️⃣ To easily clean out the egg, carefully cut off the tip of the egg with a serrated knife and remove the egg white and yolk. Wash the inside with warm water until it is clean. Then let the egg shells dry overnight. 4️⃣ Melt the wax in a heatproof bowl on top your pot. While the wax is melting, prep your egg shells by placing them into an empty egg carton and add the wicks. 🕯 5️⃣ Secure the wicks with toothpicks. Once the wax is completely melted, carefully pour it into the egg shells. 6️⃣ Let the wax harden completely, ideally overnight. Trim the wicks to the desired length. Then decorate the egg carton with wood wool and greenery of your choice. 💙 Decorate your Easter table with fresh, natural and beautifully looking piece of your handwork!🌼 🐇 🐣 Let's give second chances to unwanted goods! Keep on upcycling!🌍 💚 ♻ #DIYInspiration #SustainableLiving #UpcycledCrafts #platformgifted #Erasmus+Lietuva

🎯 As we step into the New year, let's embark on a journey towards a more sustainable lifestyle through upcycling. Upcycling isn’t just a trend; it's a conscious choice that contributes to reducing waste and preserving our planet. Here are 12 upcycling goals to consider for 2024 (so you have a new one for each month): 🧵 Embrace DIY Projects: Commit to creating one DIY upcycling project every month. Whether it's repurposing old furniture, revamping clothes, or turning household items into something new, DIY projects can be both fun and fulfilling. 🎒 Reduce Single-Use Plastics: Pledge to eliminate or significantly reduce single-use plastics from your daily life. Replace them with reusable alternatives or upcycled materials whenever possible. 🛍️ Explore Thrift Stores and Garage Sales: Make it a goal to shop more sustainably by finding treasures in thrift stores or garage sales. Upcycling starts with finding pre-loved items to give them a new life. 🥗 Upcycle Food Scraps: Challenge yourself to waste less food by upcycling kitchen scraps. Turn vegetable peels into broth, create compost, or explore creative recipes to utilize every part of your ingredients. 🌱 Start a Garden: Begin a small garden and composting system at home. Not only will this reduce your waste, but it will also provide you with fresh produce while minimizing your carbon footprint. ✍️ Educate and Share: Spread awareness about upcycling among your friends and family. Share your upcycling journey, tips, and successes on social media or in your community to inspire others. 📦 Upcycle Packaging Materials: Reuse packaging materials like cardboard boxes, bubble wrap, and envelopes for shipping or storage purposes instead of throwing them away. 🛠️ Host Upcycling Workshops: Consider organizing or participating in local upcycling workshops. It's a great way to learn new skills and foster a sense of community while promoting sustainability. 👗 Support Upcycling Brands: Research and support brands that prioritize upcycling and sustainable practices. By purchasing from these brands, you contribute to a circular economy and encourage others to do the same. 📱 Upcycle Electronics: Explore ways to repurpose old electronics or gadgets instead of disposing of them. Get creative by turning them into art pieces, donating to tech-savvy individuals, or recycling them responsibly. 🧶 Repurpose Textiles: Learn basic sewing skills to mend clothes or repurpose textiles into new garments or household items. This not only reduces textile waste but also adds a personal touch to your belongings. 📸 Document Your Journey: Keep track of your upcycling efforts, successes, and challenges throughout the year. Reflecting on your progress can motivate you to continue your sustainable habits and inspire others to join the movement. #UpcyclingGoals2024 #SustainableLiving #ReduceReuseRecycle

🌟🌍 Delighted to share highlights from the inspiring event on November 30th in Kaunas! 🌟✨ The "Transformation Conference: Upcycler - A Shadow of the Past or a Profession of the Future?" was an incredible platform that delved into the world of item repair and transformation. 🛠️🔄 From exploring sustainability exemplars in Ireland to discussing the vital role of item repair and upcycling in national policies and education, the day was packed with invaluable insights. Virginija Vingrienė, representing the Aplinkos Ministerija, shed light on the national policy context for item repair and its environmental significance. Prof. Dr. Daiva Beržinskienė-Juozainienė of Kolpingo Kolegija delved into the potential of repair as a profession in the education sector. Jolita Šalkauskienė from Vilniaus Apskrities Atliekų Tvarkymo Centras urged us to consider empowering repair initiatives. The sessions didn't just stop at discussions; they sparked actionable dialogue: 🔹 Aušra Plaušinaitienė highlighted the potential of repair as a successful business niche with ReFurbas. 🔹 Vida Strasevičiūtė explored the business perspective of item repair and waste management with example from @Nareco. The post-session discussions were equally dynamic, focusing on integrating repair programs into education, fostering collaborations between local entities, artisans, and waste management companies, and exploring financial incentives for item repair in Lithuania. Kudos to all participants for their active involvement and to the organizers for curating such an impactful event! Let's continue these conversations and drive positive change towards a more sustainable future! 🌱♻️ #TransformationConference #Sustainability #RepairRevolution Kolpingo kolegija
