  • The European Economic Area (EEA) and Norway Grants have been in the spotlight earlier this week, as we joined colleagues from Norway, Lithuania, Iceland, and Liechtenstein at the Annual Meeting. Through the Grants, the 117 million Euros allocated to Lithuania have been invested in areas such as justice, health, civil society, innovation and culture. At the meeting, Ambassador Atle Konta Midttun highlighted the importance of the EEA and Norway Grants as a bridge between our countries, emphasizing that the success of these programs comes down to the dedicated people working toward positive change. Looking forward to continued cooperation and further strengthening of our bilateral relations! EEA and Norway Grants

  • Last week, the Norwegian Embassy proudly attended the international conference Defending Baltics: War Lessons from Ukraine, at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania in Vilnius. The conference gathered military leaders, defense experts and policymakers to discuss the ever-evolving role of NATO, transformation of Europe’s defense industries amid a shifting security landscape, as well as threats posed by hybrid warfare and the increasing importance of cybersecurity. The conference drew on the latest developments from the battlefield in Ukraine, creating a platform for fostering collaboration and sharing knowledge between the Baltic states, NATO allies, and Ukraine itself. 🇺🇦 It was great to see Kyrre Lohne, Vice President of Government and Business Development at KONGSBERG, joining the conference to explain Kongsberg’s approach to addressing current challenges for European defense industries such as balancing the need for rapid innovation, scaling up of production and cross-border collaboration. 🇳🇴 Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace A big thank you to the organizers, the Ministry of National Defence of Lithuania, Locked N’Loaded, the Embassy of Sweden in Vilnius, Eastern Europe Studies Center and the Civic Resilience Initiative (CRI). ✨🌍 Locked N' Loaded (NGO) Eastern Europe Studies Centre Embassy of Sweden in Vilnius Krašto apsaugos ministerija | Ministry of National Defence of Lithuania Civic Resilience Initiative
