February is all about love—not just for people, but for animals too! This month, we are showing love and appreciation for our furry friends by supporting Tautmilės Globa Shelter. To help make a difference, we’re gathering essential donations and volunteering at the shelter, supporting their incredible work in rescuing and caring for abandoned pets. A big thank you to all our colleagues contributing to this initiative—small acts of kindness go a long way! 🐶🐱💙

We all have our ups and downs—it’s part of being human. That’s why we’re so proud to launch an internal initiative to support mental health within our organization. 💙 As part of this effort, 10 incredible colleagues have completed specialized training to become Peer Supporters. While they’re not therapists, they’re here to provide a listening ear, a safe space, and emotional reassurance to their fellow colleagues. This program is about colleagues supporting colleagues—because we believe in taking care of each other. Conversations are always confidential, creating a trusted space to share and feel heard. Sharing the load makes the journey lighter, and Peer Supporters are here to help.

Gabija Stankevičiūtė, our Administration Officer, has been a vital part of the team for the past two years, ensuring that everything runs as seamlessly as a well-tended garden. From managing facilities to handling procurement and fostering stakeholder collaboration, she keeps our operations thriving with efficiency and care. 🌱 Her journey to Yara marked a significant turning point. Leaving behind her French philology studies, Gabija embraced a full-time role that offered her both growth and new challenges. Reflecting on this shift, she says, “The culture really stood out to me during the interview, and I’m glad I made the leap. What I value most is the supportive environment, along with its focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, and health and safety.” Nurtured by positive feedback and her strong sense of accountability, Gabija has blossomed both personally and professionally during her time here. She shares, “Yara has taught me to be more resilient, focused, and goal-oriented. Working with a variety of people has helped me become more diplomatic and improved my communication skills.” 🌸 Her advice for newcomers? “Don’t shy away from work. Take on challenges and gain as much experience as you can—it’s the best way to grow.” We are thankful to Gabija for sharing her journey and for helping create a positive work environment every day. 🌿💚

In Lithuania, around 70% of working-age individuals with disabilities are not employed—a statistic that highlights not only a gap in the labor market but also a broader societal challenge. This figure points to systemic barriers such as inaccessible workplaces, limited opportunities for skills development, and prevailing biases that hinder the inclusion of people with disabilities in the workforce. That is why we launched our first 6-week internship program in partnership with the SOPA, designed to create meaningful opportunities for individuals with disabilities. We are excited to share the first impressions from our talented interns.
