[EUROPEAN COMMISSION’S OMNIBUS I PROPOSALS PACKAGE HAS BEEN PUBLISHED] Omnibus consists of a set of proposals on the simplifications and streamlining of sustainability disclosure obligations. In particular, the package reflects changes in CSRD, EU Taxonomy and CSDDD. CSRD ➡️Limited scope: Only large companies and groups with > 1,000 employees remain within scope. ➡️Postponed reporting: Reporting obligations are to be postponed by 2 years. ➡️Value Chain: A limited scope of information can be requested by companies in the value chain. ➡️ ESRS: To be simplified, no sector-specific standards. ➡️ Assurance: limited assurance, expected assurance guidelines. CSDDD: ➡️Compliance obligations: to be lightened. ➡️Compliance timeline: companies with >5000 employees are to comply one year later. EU Taxonomy: ➡️ Opt-out option: For companies with < 1,000 employees and < EUR 450 million revenue reporting is to become voluntary. ➡️ Reporting obligations: Materiality threshold will apply, significantly reduced data points and simplified templates to be expected.
