BRS Shipbrokers participated in the annual 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 in Singapore, a key gathering for the maritime industry. The event brought over 1,000 attendees from more than 400 companies with strong ties to Norwegian #shipping and #trade.   With a significant maritime presence, the evening highlighted the crucial role of these two countries in global shipping. From the importance of 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, and 𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 to the art of effective communication with clients and partners. 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭-𝐂𝐍𝐘 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭   The dry bulk market remains quiet after the Lunar New Year, with mixed signs of improvement:   🔹 The holiday downturn kept 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐥𝐨𝐰, continuing the slow start to 2025. 🔹 In past years, post-CNY rebounds were strong (e.g., a 𝟲𝟮.𝟳% jump in P5_82 in 2021). This year, P5_82 rose 𝟱𝟱.𝟳% but remains below operating costs. 🔹𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞, but high inventories and weak industrial activity keep recovery uncertain. 🔹 Buyers prefer 𝐥𝐨𝐰-𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 #ore, limiting high-grade shipments post-holiday.   𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭? The maritime industry will witness an increase in vessel deliveries next year.📈 Some projections indicate:   🔹𝐁𝐮𝐥𝐤 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬: 541 vessels (38.33M dwt) – highest since 2016 🔹𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐓𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬: 139 MR2 & 77 LR2 (10.70M dwt) – biggest jump since 2009 🔹𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐝𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬: 89 vessels (17.30M dwt) – Suezmax leading at 47 deliveries   These developments underscore shifting market dynamics, driven by global trade demands and fleet renewal strategies.
