In the EU railway network, high-speed railway lines designed for speed of 250 km/h or more have seen significant growth over the past decade. Personal transfers outflows from the EU (money sent by EU resident households to non-resident households) reached a record level of €50.9 billion in 2023, an 8% increase compared with 2022 (€47.0 billion). ➡️📩 🔹Largest share was directed to Asia (excluding the Near and Middle East), accounting for 21% (€10.7 billion) of the total outflows from the EU. Inflows of personal transfers to the EU were €13.9 billion in 2023, resulting in a negative balance of €37.0 billion for the EU with the rest of the world. ⬅️📩 🔹Non-EU European countries were responsible for 50% of total inflows to the EU (€6.8 billion). Summary report from the 12th SDMX Experts Workshop 📖🆕   A summary report on the proceedings of the 12th statistical data and metadata exchange (SDMX) experts workshop was recently published: https://lnkd.in/d-5dX8SM   The summary report offers an overview of the implementation and usage of the SDMX standard. In particular, the report shows how SDMX is starting to be used in conjunction with artificial intelligence (AI) to facilitate data discovery, how the portfolio of available SDMX IT tools is evolving and how version 3.0 of the SDMX standard is being leveraged to tackle new data exchange use cases.
