Last Weekend more than 20 Alumni from Germany🇩🇪, Luxembourg🇱🇺 and France🇫🇷 gathered in Berlin for the Alumni Startup Weekend. Startup Weekend means 3 days filled with inspiring talks from Founders, valuable insights into the ecosystem and plenty of Alumni Spirit!✨ - Gregor Herdmann told us how he planned to revolutionize last-mile deliveries with Paketconcierge, and opened up on the harsh reality of having to close your Startup after not being able to close your next round - Fabian Tausch explained how he became arguably the most well-connected young person in the German Startup World, all by being humble, open and true to himself. - Snackz.ai shared how they are making books fit for the 21st Century by making them more appealing and diggestible for the consumer. - Gründungsmagnet and Zukunft.Gruenden pitched their initiatives that bring students into the Startup World, educate them on the know-how and also help fund first Ventures. All in all this Weekend was an amazing opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and create long-lasting connections as well as cherished memories that won't be forgotten all too soon. 🇵🇹Global Alumni Summit 2024 - Porto🇵🇹 From the 22nd to the 25th of August, JA Alumni from all over the world gathered in Porto, Portugal to emerge as entrepreneurs, as leaders, as the change-makers of the 21st century👩💼🧑💼. This gathering was filled with the amazing spirit that resonates every-time Alumni get together to learn, exchange and to shape the future. The many inspiring Keynote Speakers shared their knowledge and sparked so many ideas within the audience. JA Worldwide CEO Asheesh Advani inspired each and everyone on how he leads the education of the next generation through what is the amazing World of Junior Achievement.🚀 During the Global Celebration Night we honored the achievements of the aspiring Alumni all over the Globe🌎 who are building Networks that will have an incredible impact on the local Alumni population, it was truly amazing to see how fast the Networks in the Americas, in Africa, in Asia as well as all the other countries are growing. And not to forget we celebrated 20 years of JA Alumni Europe 20 years of European Spirit🇪🇺, 20 years of making cross-border connections and 20 years of being stronger together. This was also the opportunity to welcome the new European Alumni Board of JA Alumni Europe, as well as saluting the leaving Board for their incredible work over the past year, we are looking forward to working together for the next Alumni Leaders Academy hosted in Luxembourg. We are also proud to announce the we have renewed our Country Ranking as a Bronze Nation, showing how amazing you, our Luxembourgish Alumni🇱🇺, are in making this possible!💚 We thank Sarah Rapp and Erin Sawyer for being the brains of this Summit, JA Alumni Europe for bringing us all together, and most importantly JA Alumni Portugal for being such amazing hosts! A deep-dive into the space ecosystem of Luxembourg🚀💫 This Saturday, we had the pleasure of hosting our Alumni Space Workshop, where together with our amazing partners, we brought this fascinating topic closer to the engaged and curious young individuals in Luxembourg. Redwire Space Europe offered insights into how robotics can make space travel more sustainable by reducing in-orbit debris 🛰️. They also showcased how their company will be vital in bringing humans back to the moon. HITEC Luxembourg S.A. brought the world of telecommunications 📡 closer and explained how we can utilize this technology to bring value to people all around the globe. European Space Resources Innovation Centre (ESRIC) introduced how the wide variety of resources present in Space and on the Moon 🌕 can be utilized to establish a more permanent human presence 🧑🚀 in Space. Furthermore, they also showed how their programs are helping to develop the next generation of Space Startups here in Luxembourg🇱🇺 We also want to thank Luxembourg Space Agency for supporting this event through their "Astronaut for a Day" program, an amazing opportunity for young people to learn more about Space and its industry. The social impact of Entrepreneurship Last Friday the Social Business Incubator - SBI welcomed our Alumni Network to give us an insight into the social entrepreneurship ecosystem. Here we learned how entrepreneurs can use their ideas to create a better future for everyone. Jean Lasar also gave us a first-hand example of this by pitching us Survcoin, his company which promotes sustainable commuting, by rewarding its users for opting to use soft mobility instead of their cars.
