À propos

LuxCSD provides Luxembourg’s financial community with services for settlement in EUR central bank money as well as with issuing and custody services for a wide variety of domestic and international securities including investment funds. In 2020, LuxCSD received its CSDR licence (Central Securities Depositories Regulation) aiming to increase the safety and efficiency of securities settlement and settlement infrastructures in the EU. As a central securities depository (CSD), LuxCSD offers custodian banks and distributors across Europe excellent custody and value-added services as well as a highly efficient settlement process with access to many counterparties. Settlement of securities transactions in central bank money reduces risk for financial market participants. LuxCSD fully supports dematerialised securities as these significantly reduce inefficiency, risk and cost for the financial services sector. In addition, LuxCSD advises issuers who are in the process of dematerialising their physical securities. LuxCSD is also accredited by the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF) as an official Local Operating Unit (LOU) for the issuance and renewal of legal entity identifiers (LEIs) in 37 jurisdictions around the world. An online portal is available for registrants and their authorised intermediaries to initiate new LEI requests, maintain existing LEIs and update reference data. The Luxembourg based, multilingual LEI Service team supports LEI customers to comply with the data standards. The required legal entity reference data is published and made available to the public for free on LuxCSD’s website and in GLEIF concatenated files.
