Reflecting on seven quarters of remarkable progress since the creation of MDsim, one of the achievements I’m most proud of is building an exceptional team. Our team of PhDs and engineers, specializing in computer modeling, simulation, AI, Software development and biomechanics, has the perfect blend of competence, motivation, and culture. Together, we are driving the development of solutions that will have a positive impact on people’s lives. In a deep tech startup like MDsim, a great team is the most critical factor for success. In total, 30 companies associated with BioWin - The Health Cluster of Wallonia, Luxinnovation GIE, hub.brussels, and MEDVIA competed. 4 preseed, 8 startups and 4 scaleups will complement the 11 already selected companies. On Thursday 16th November, Technoport SA organized with LAFO and the support of Creutz & Partners the very first edition of the 𝐋𝐮𝐱𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐦 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐬. 🚀 In presence of a hand-picked audience mixing #entrepreneurs, #investors and #privatewealth advisors, this event has featured four #startups (AM 4 AM / SYSLOR / Myelin-H / MDsim) selected by Technoport to pitch in front of a jury - that was as discerning as it was demanding – composed of (Claude de Raismes, Solenne Niedercorn-Desouches and Stephan Ramoin). The level of competition was particularly high, so it wasn't easy for the members of the jury to reach a decision. However… M͟D͟s͟i͟m͟ ͟s͟t͟o͟o͟d͟ ͟o͟u͟t͟ because: 1° The company is helping to reduce a major health problem that could affect the entire population; 2° The "Software as a Medical Device" solution seems well suited to the practical needs of surgeons and patients: better results for the patient, lower risk of complications, shorter operations,  and lower treatment costs; 3° The longer investment horizon, requiring R&D and marketing authorization, is well suited to players such as family offices, who have permanent capital and therefore time on their hands. Well done to Roger Assaker and his team! 💪 A great opportunity ahead for them to pitch at the 🥂 𝐋𝐀𝐅𝐎 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥 🥂 early 2024 in front of more than a hundred members and guests. 👏 Congratulations to them and to all the start-ups that have taken up the challenge (Maxime Delmée, Zied Tayeb, Edouard Semin) !
