À propos

Return2Career is a purpose-led consulting, coaching and network organisation. Our mission is to remove the ‘Career Break Penalty’ and making atypical career paths a normal part of a successful career. We run a free-of-charge returner (community) membership and partner with leading employers to design, implement, promote and support Career Re-entry programmes. Through these programmes, retention of returning parental leavers improves and attraction of talent increases by tapping into the highly experienced and under-utilized professional talent pool of external returners. All the while improving the gender balance and increasing the employer brand value. Mission: Equal Career Opportunities for all Vision: Bridging the Talent Gap Values: Trust, Equality, Commitment, Care and Curiosity. Strategy: Implementing re-entry programmes in organisations, allows to retain parental leavers coming back to the workplace, taps into the under-utilized talent pool of Returners, decreases the Talent Gap, increases the female (leadership) talent pool, balances gender equality, and grows employer and Luxembourg branding.

Hiring is one of the most important steps in building a great team, but we know it can be tricky. 🫣 It's not just about finding the right skills - it's about making sure the process is fair and open-minded. That's why we love to explain how we ourselves, at Return2Career, before diving into applications of the career break talent pool, always take five minutes to tackle one of the biggest challenges in hiring: OUR OWN BIASES. This helps ensure that we treat each candidate as fairly as possible, giving them the opportunity they truly deserve. 👉Here's how we do it: We sit down and quickly go over a list of 8 key common biases that could influence our impressions and decision-making. It's a simple ritual, but it works. Spending just a few minutes acknowledging these mental shortcuts helps us making fairer, better choices. Take a look at the carousel and see which 8 Key Common Biases we watch out for 👇! Why It Matters? Acknowledging these biases isn’t about being perfect - it’s about striving for fairer, more thoughtful assessment and in the end - hiring opportunities. This simple practice helps us recognise the best talent - not just the talent that fits our unconscious patterns. 🫵🤗What do you think? Would you try this approach with your team? 📍If you'd like to learn more about implementing these practices or need guidance on reducing biases in your hiring process, get in touch with us. Let's work together to create a fairer, more effective hiring strategy. #hiring #biases #candidates #returntocareer #bestpractices

To all you out there relaunching your career - "Yeah, there's a gap in your résumé. Big deal. You're bloody brilliant at what you can do. Be proud of your achievements and experience and let's face it - never apologise for being YOU." 🫶❤️🙋♀️

Empowering Global Talent Management: AI-Driven Efficiency Meets Genuine Human Engagement.

📣 So, according to LinkedIn chatter, I’m pretty much done for. Why? Well, I’m over 40, I’ve got a recent gap in my CV, and apparently, I need to slap on the “#OpenToWork” badge to be noticed. But wait—if I do, I look desperate, right? And as a recruiter, it must really look bad, like "She can’t even find herself a job!" Let’s be real—you can’t win! Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. But here’s the kicker—it’s my choice. I’ve applied for exactly three jobs, and that's because I’m holding out for the right one. I’m not here to take just any job—I’m here for the right role, with a company that’s as forward-thinking as I am and in a sector I’m proud to be a part of. So yeah, there’s a gap in my CV. Big deal. I’m still bloody brilliant at what I do as a Talent Partner. Proud of my achievements and experience, and let's face it—cracking on in your 40s? That’s a privilege. No apologies here for being me. And like I always tell my candidates—you’ve got to do what’s right for you. #openbutpicky #careermove #authentic

As someone deeply passionate about fostering diverse career paths, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible value that mid-life employees bring to our organisations. ❤️ 👍Research shows that mid-life employees often exhibit higher motivation, loyalty, and work ethic - qualities that can significantly boost productivity and reduce recruitment costs. Here are some strategies I believe can make a real difference in attracting and retaining this talented group: 📍Flexible work arrangements - most employers continue to advertise full-time vacancies by default - ruling out large numbers of people, despite them having the skills and experiences needed for the roles. Offering flexible work options can make a world of difference. 📍Combat ageism - it’s crucial to challenge stereotypes. Only 8% of diversity initiatives include age, yet age-diverse teams are proven to be more productive. 📍Purposeful roles - did you know that nearly 60% of adults over 50 prefer roles with a social purpose, just like Gen Z? Designing positions that align with their passions not only boosts morale but also enhances productivity. 📍Training & mentoring - let’s not underestimate the power of continuous learning! Providing opportunities for skill development and creating mentoring and reverse-mentoring programmes can foster a culture of growth and collaboration. Let’s create an inclusive culture that celebrates contributions from all ages! 🫵🤗What strategies have you found effective in attracting and retaining older talent? I’d love to hear your thoughts! 💼✨👇 At Return2Career, we’re committed to building environments where everyone can thrive. If you believe that too, contact us and we can harness the wealth of knowledge and experience diversity brings to our teams. #ReturnToCareer #Diversity #Inclusion #OlderWorkers #WorkplaceCulture

🌟 Revolutionizing Work-Life Balance - the power of a five-hour workday 🌟 As a career advancement consultant and as founder of Return2Career, I'm always exploring innovative ways to enhance work-life balance and productivity. Recently, I've been intrigued by the concept of a five-hour workday, which aligns perfectly with our mission to make atypical career paths a normal and celebrated part of professional life. Research suggests that the traditional eight-hour workday may not be the most effective model for productivity and employee well-being. A study involving nearly 2,000 British office workers found that most people are truly productive for only about three hours every day. This revelation opens the door to reimagining our work structure. The five-hour workday concept offers numerous benefits: 📍Enhanced Productivity - studies indicate that five hours is the maximum most of us can concentrate hard on something. By focusing work into this optimal window, we can potentially increase both quality and quantity of output. 📍Improved Work-Life Balance - shorter work days allow parents and caregivers to align their schedules with school hours, enabling them to balance career and family responsibilities more effectively. 📍Reduced Stress - a compressed workday can lead to reduced stress levels and improved employee satisfaction. 📍Better Health - employees with shorter workdays tend to take less sick leave, as seen in a Swedish experiment with nurses in an assisted-living facility. 📍Increased Focus - with less time, people tend to prioritize better and focus on tasks that truly matter. 😊Implementing a five-hour workday does come with challenges, such as potential "culture shock" and the need for more streamlined processes. However, companies that have tried this model have seen promising results, including increased productivity and employee happiness. As we navigate the evolving landscape of work, it's smart to consider innovative approaches like the five-hour workday. It's not just about working less; it's about working smarter and living better. 🫵I'm curious to hear your thoughts on this. How do you think a five-hour workday could impact your productivity and work-life balance? Could this be the future of work in Luxembourg and beyond? 🎤 Just as Adele has decided to take a career break (in her case to recharge), we should be able to do the same in our careers - without it be seen as a setback. Career breaks can be transformative, and how we frame them on our résumés can make all the difference. Some tips we provide our Community of Returners during one-on-one's and webinars, I would love to share with you too: 1️⃣ Highlight skills over experience - open with your skillset, showcasing your strengths before diving into your employment history. Let your abilities shine through. 2️⃣ Show continuous learning - any courses, training, or new skills acquired during your break? Make sure they're front and centre. 3️⃣ Own your story, be transparent and frame positively - transparency, without oversharing, builds trust. Let hiring managers see the value your break brought to your personal growth and whether it's self-care, family, or passion projects, focus on the positive outcomes. It doesn't have to be front and centre, but employers want to know how this time has prepared you for your next step. 🤗Career breaks are not the end of a journey; they’re a chapter that adds depth to your story.📖 🫵Do you have any other tips or encouraging words to share with anyone who wants to relaunch their career after a career break? Please use the comments below and help to make a difference.👇 #CareerBreak #ReturnerTalent #Resilience #AdeleComeback #CareerReentry

Have you noticed too, how the interview landscape is changing -driven by the workplace reality in the US- and it's shift towards structured skills-based interviews? 😯 This shift makes that traditional formats that focus on personality and presentation are being replaced with structured approaches that prioritise real-world capabilities and results. 🌍 I believe this trend will not only reach Europe and Luxembourg hiring practices soon, but it also presents an exciting development for job seekers looking to demonstrate their true potential. ✨ So, how can you, when looking for career advancement, prepare for this change? Here are a few strategies I can highly recommend: 📍Decode the job description 🗺️: It’s more than a wish list - it’s a blueprint for your preparation. Identify the skills that matter most and think of examples where you’ve applied them effectively. 📍Sharpen your technical skills 💡: Be ready for practical assessments. Whether it’s a coding challenge, financial analysis, or troubleshooting task, you might be asked to demonstrate your skills on the spot. 📍Craft your stories 📖: Reflect on specific situations where you’ve used your skills to overcome challenges or achieve results. These stories are your evidence and your opportunity to showcase what you’re capable of. 📍Align with company values 🤝: Employers are increasingly looking for cultural FIT or even cultural ADD. Research their core values and prepare examples that demonstrate how you embody these principles in your professional life. 📍Spotlight your impact 💥: It’s not only about what your team achieved - it’s mainly about your role in making it happen. Be specific about your contributions and the measurable results you drove. This shift is a fantastic opportunity for job seekers to move beyond credentials and really showcase their skills, impact, and fit. It also allows for less room for a bias on atypical career paths or career breaks 😊. ✨ So, what about you 🫵, are you ready to embrace the change, prepare with purpose, and keep pace with the evolving market? Contact us to be future ready🚀. #SkillsBasedHiring #FutureOfWork #EuropeanJobMarket #LuxembourgJobs #TalentGap #JobInterviews
