Head of Finance in Venture Capital

We are seeking an experienced Head of Finance to join our team. At Mangrove, you take over the following responsibilities with respect to the firm, the funds managed by the firm and related entities:

• Overseeing all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, tax, valuation and financial reporting
• Developing and maintaining financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Providing financial analysis and guidance to the executive team to support decision-making
• Managing relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, auditors, and financial institutions
• Leading the valuation function and collaborating in the implementation of risk management strategies.
• Ensuring that financial practices align with industry standards and best practices

You will work closely with the executive team to ensure that our financial practices align with our business objectives and support our long-term growth and success.

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is preferred
• Minimum of 6-8 years of relevant experience, preferably within the alternative investment industry (private equity or venture capital)
• Strong knowledge of Luxembourgish GAAP and applicable financial regulations
• Experience with IPEV Valuation guidelines
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently, in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders
• Familiarity in working closely with the other C-suite executives as well as the Board
• High level of integrity and professionalism
• Fluency (written and spoken) in English

What would be a plus:

• Professional certification (e.g. CPA, ACCA)
• Prior accreditation as a Conducting Officer by the Luxembourgish regulator (CSSF)
• Experience in implementing relevant management tools and software for efficient operations
• Additional European language(s)
