🏆 𝗔&𝗢 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 – 𝟴𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Last Friday, we had the pleasure of hosting one of our most significant events: the A&O Shearman Business Games at our Luxembourg office. 📍 The event brought together 16 students from diverse academic backgrounds for a day filled with learning and competition. The day kicked off with an insightful presentation of the firm by Julie Garnon, followed by an introduction to the Corporate department by Louis Metens, Elisabeth Ollé Gamundi, Clémence Ravier, and Arnaud Zinsius, who coached the teams. Our two teams of buyers and two teams of sellers competed on a Corporate law case, showcasing their analytical skills, team spirit, and commercial acumen. The negotiations were judged by a jury comprising Fabian Beullekens, Matthieu De Donder, Guillaume Foillard, and Magali Maillot. In the afternoon, the students were also able to discover the firm and its history thanks to Alysia Amaglio, Solène Gizard, and Ines Elantri. Our colleagues from the Human Resources team, Magali Maillot, Solène Gizard, Julie Garnon, and Ines Elantri, welcomed six enthusiastic students from the "Ecole Internationale" of Differdange to A&O Shearman Luxembourg yesterday, for a day of learning and creativity. The Digital Challenge, an initiative by IMS Luxembourg - Inspiring More Sustainability and CARE, allows students to get a first experience in a professional environment, and enables companies to engage with the next generation. This year's challenge focused on digitalization in organizations, with students brainstorming strategies to attract law students to Luxembourg. The students impressed us with their fresh ideas, presentation skills, curiosity, and teamwork. The annual landmark event for Private Capital in Luxembourg, the LPEA - Luxembourg Private Equity & Venture Capital Association Insights Conference, took place on 17 October. Our funds and asset management partner, Yannick Arbaut, hosted the PE Tech stage for the afternoon, where he facilitated discussions on technological advancements in the industry. We were honored to have key note speeches by the Luxembourg Minister of Finance, Gilles Roth, and Michael Mainelli, the Lord Mayor of the City of London. The panel discussion that followed, expertly moderated by Daniela Klasen-Martin, Country Head at RBS International, included Peter Myners, our A&O Shearman Luxembourg Partner & Global Board Member, Craig Blair, Country Head at Franklin Templeton Investments, Finbarr Browne, CEO of Schroders Luxembourg and Micaela Forelli, CEO of M&G Investments Europe. Together, they delved into the current synergies between the financial services sectors of London and Luxembourg. It is specified, for example, that the private home address must be entered in the "usual residence" section. This is the address where the LNIN will be sent. However, the address that will appear on the RCS extracts will be the one entered in the "data entry" section.
