What are the challenges of processing UK IDs? In our latest installment of Top-Notch Identity Document Processing Worldwide, we travel to the United Kingdom to discover the various subtleties of their ID documents. The UK has a complex territory structure, including England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and several self-governing entities — such as British Crown Dependencies and Overseas Territories — that maintain a unique relationship with the UK. Also, after Brexit, the UK is no longer part of the EU, and the British government has implemented a range of reforms, including updates to their ID documents. The theme was “Women Experts in Document Verification,” so Regula expert Inga Voroņko gave a presentation, “The Role of Information Reference Systems in Detecting Fake Documents.” • Identity Week Asia in Singapore A huge event bringing together thousands of identity professionals across multiple industries from the entire Asia Pacific region. There, the Regula team presented a large array of devices, including document readers and workstations for detailed forensic examination.
