🌱💧🌍 Planting Hope: A Journey Toward a Greener Future On 20 January 2025, I had the honor and pleasure of participating in the 12th annual Tree Planting Day, an inspiring event organized by the High Atlas Foundation (HAF). This valued tradition brought together communities across Morocco to reaffirm our collective commitment to environmental sustainability. The annual Tree Planting Day is not just a nationwide initiative; it is a testament to the power of collective action. In regions all over Morocco, people of all ages—men, women, and children—gathered to plant trees, symbolizing unity and hope in the face of environmental challenges. Knowing that a large number of individuals across the country were planting trees simultaneously was awe-inspiring. It felt as though we were soldiers standing together in a war against climate change, each sapling planted a step closer to victory. 🌍💚 The High Atlas Foundation recently joined students, teachers, and community members at Ezzaouiya Lmahmoudia School in Rhamna to plant 80 trees! This hands-on learning experience taught students about the vital role of trees in combating climate change, improving air quality, and supporting thriving ecosystems. This initiative also promotes sustainable agriculture, strengthens community bonds, and beautifies the surroundings. 🌱 🌎 The Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) is a program facilitated by the High Atlas Foundation (HAF), USDA Forest Service, and the USAID, U.S. Department of State. Together, they are dedicated to empowering communities through sustainable development projects. Their efforts focus on environmental conservation, community empowerment, and creating long-lasting positive change. I have always been interested in HAF´s projects and their impact, but I never had the chance to see them for myself. That changed during the tree planting day in Achbarou and Akrich villages—an unforgettable experience that left me speechless and inspired. 🌱 🌎 On January 20, 2025, I joined the High Atlas Foundation’s (HAF) 12th annual Tree Planting Day, and what a beautiful, life-changing experience it turned out to be. It was so much more than simply putting saplings in the ground—it was a chance to feel connected to something bigger than myself, and to share in an incredible moment with so many others. I traveled to the Centre De Renforcement Des Capacités Des Femmes, Tahanaoute and the Amizmiz nursery, where we came together with children, women, farmers, and university students to plant trees.
