Димитар Грбевски е добитник на наградата „Голема ѕвезда на македонскиот филм“, што ја доделува ДФРМ | Dimitar Grbevski is the winner of the "Great Star of Macedonian Film" award, awarded by MFPA (Macedonian Film Professionals Association) Македонскиот филмски и телевизиски монтажер Димитар Грбевски е добитник на наградата „Голема ѕвезда на македонскиот филм“ за исклучителен придонес во македонската кинематографија, што традиционално секоја година ја доделува Друштвото на филмски работници на Македонија. Наградата свечено ќе му биде врачена на Димитар Грбевски на 45. издание на ИФФК „Браќа Манаки“, кое ќе се одржи од 21 до 27 септември во Битола. Macedonian film and television editor Dimitar Grbevski is the winner of the "Great Star of Macedonian Film" award for outstanding contribution to Macedonian cinema. The award is traditionally awarded each year by the Macedonian Film Professionals Association. The award will be presented to Dimitar Grbevski at the 45th edition of the ICFF "Manaki Brothers", which will be held in Bitola from 21 to 27 September.

Describing his approach to the film's look cinematographer Ranabir Das says, “It was a conscious choice to push the image to the extremes. We wanted a dirty image that felt raw and realistic, but at the same time we wanted to have a kind, soft and sensitive feeling." The film, "Driven Dolls," is featured in the main selection of MANAKI 45. Just as Milton could write without Janaki, Ethan Coen proves he can direct a comedy without Joel. On receiving an email from Ethan Coen about the film, Ari Wegner ASC ACS said "I thought it was a prank at first" The film was definitely inspired by the B-movie movie genre. We looked at Russ Meyer's Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! before filming. For this movie, I relied a lot on the script an d Ethan and Trisha's natural taste, which informed a lot of the lensing and lighting choices to make sure the lighting, transitions, and such fit within the ecosystem of a B-movie. This is the central conflict in the Japanese film "Evil Does Not Exist," featured in the main selection of MANAKI 45. Director Ryusuke Hamaguchi, whose previous film "Drive My Car" won the Bronze Camera 300, has earned further acclaim with "Evil Does Not Exist," which received the Silver Lion and the Grand Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival. Yoshio Kitagawa’s cinematography frames humans as small elements in a wide canvas of forest and field, the bright colors of their jackets like points of unnatural light seen through the tangles of branches. An idealistic teacher sets out to uncover the truth behind a series of thefts at school in Teacher's Office. Leonie Benes, portrays a teacher caught between her students and colleagues as she tries to find the truth in a world where everyone lies, some more than others. It was shot in 4:3 aspect ratio by DP Judith Kaufmann BVK, whose dynamic handheld camerawork investigates the classrooms, corridors and bathrooms in which the truth might be concealed. Celebrating its 45th anniversary, the Manaki Brothers Film Festival is one of the most unique celebrations of cinematography on Earth. Nicola Foley, Editor of Definition magazine sits down with festival director Simeon Moni Damevski to find out more. . Few events in the world of cinematography hold the reverence and legacy of the Manaki Brothers Film Festival. Attracting the cream of the craft to a quaint town in North Macedonia called Bitola each year, the gathering has hosted luminaries from Roger Deakins to Sven Nykvist and Vittorio Storaro, garnering a reputation as one of the finest film festivals in the world. Its fundamental ethos, according to current director Simeon Damevski, is to honour the work of cinematographers: “Without them, the art of film wouldn’t exist. They are the unsung heroes behind every great film,” he enthuses. “This is the essence of the festival – we care about cinematographers and think of them as part of our family. We want to help grow their talent and promote them.
