Military Academy is a military educational, scientific, and research institution for university-level education.

About us

Military Academy is a military educational, scientific, and research institution for university-level education. It educates personnel for the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia, the system for crisis management, and the system for protection and rescue. Military Academy is an associated member of the State University “Goce Delcev – Stip” and is founded by the Law and functions in accordance with the Law for High education and the Law for scientific-research work in the Republic of North Macedonia. It is accredited by the Ministry of education according to the European credit transfer system, as a high educational and scientific institution. It offers university studies in three cycles (the first cycle finishes by awarding a bachelor’s degree, the second cycle includes master studies and specializations, and the third cycle Ph.D.). The University Diploma of completed undergraduate studies at the Military Academy is verified in the country, which provides cadets and students with relevant positions for further education within the educational system of the country and other countries members of the Bologna’s process. We have more than 20 professors and more than 200 students. Most of our professors have expertise in military and security science and a part that relates to ICT and cybersecurity.

  • 🚀 Successful Completion of the "Cyber Threat Management" Course! 🌐🔍 We are excited to share that from October 7 to 10, 2024, Ludovika University and the Military Academy General Mihailo Apostolski successfully organized the "Cyber Threat Management" course in Budapest. This initiative was supported by the European Security & Defence College (ESDC) and the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA), both located in Brussels, Belgium. Participants from several EU countries, including Portugal, Luxembourg, Latvia, Bulgaria, France, and Hungary, engaged in enriching discussions on the latest cyber threats, significant incidents, and effective prevention methods. The course utilized interactive theoretical and practical sessions, enhancing participants' skills in implementing robust cybersecurity measures. A special thank you to our distinguished colleagues Prof. Dr. Kire Jakimovski and M.Sc. Goce Stevanoski from the Institute for Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics. They delivered valuable insights through a technical analysis of modern cyber threats and incidents, laying a solid foundation for further training in threat management and incident response. This course is a significant step towards strengthening our collective cybersecurity capabilities and fostering collaboration across borders.   • 🌟 Successful Completion of the Course: "Cybersecurity Risk Management"! 🌐🔒 We are pleased to share that from October 14 to 17, 2024, Ludovika University in Budapest successfully hosted a course organized in collaboration with the Military Academy General Mihailo Apostolski and the University of Montenegro. The course, titled "Cybersecurity Risk Management" was supported by the European Security & Defence College (ESDC) and the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA). Participants from several EU member states, including Greece, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, France, and Hungary, had the opportunity to delve into the latest risks in cyberspace, information security systems, and approaches for managing risks associated with information security. The course featured a blend of interactive theoretical and practical sessions aimed at enhancing risk management skills in cybersecurity measures. We would like to highlight the contributions of our esteemed colleagues Prof. Dr. Dimitar Bogatinov and M.Sc. Goce Stevanoski from the Institute for Cyber Security and Digital Forensics. They presented critical topics in information security management, emphasizing management strategies and the vital role of personnel across various levels. They also provided insights into the cybersecurity ecosystem of the Western Balkans, addressing regional developments, emerging threats, and the proactive measures countries are taking to strengthen their cybersecurity frameworks. This course represents a significant advancement in building our collective cybersecurity capacity and fostering international collaboration.     The 2-day Regional Workshop “Individual and Regionally-Based Cyber and Hybrid Threats and Challenges in South East Europe” is taking place in Tirana, Republic of Albania, on 02-03 October 2024. Recognizing the increased significance of cybersecurity and hybrid threats in today’s digital age, the Workshop is jointly organized by RACVIAC, the Ministry of Defense of Albania, and the Military Academy “General Mihailo Apostolski” from Skopje. The event is a part of a broader initiative titled “Strengthening SEE Resilience in Cyber Security Against Hybrid Threats,” aiming to bolster regional and national responses to these pressing issues.   • 🚀 Today in Ohrid, the second module of the Regional Strategic Leadership Course (RSLC) officially began! 🌍 This course, co-organized by the Military Academy "General Mihailo Apostolski" and the National Defence Academy of Austria, with support from the Ministry of Defence, will run from September 16 to 20.   • Military Academy Representative at the Prestigious NATO Conference on Training and Technology The Military Academy played a significant role at the prominent NATO Training and Technology Conference – NTTC, held from September 10 to 12, 2024, in Lisbon, Portugal. The event, which brought together top experts from around the world, featured discussions led by distinguished scholars such as Prof. Dr. Sae Schatz from the NATO Partnership and Cooperation Consortium, Prof. Dr. Timothy Post from the NATO NCI Academy, and Prof. Dr. Williams from Iowa State University.
