Everyone needs to have a set of principles they follow so they don't have to think about every problem from scratch. I'll tell you how I've been building React applications for the last 8 years. What works. What doesn't. What to focus on to make sure you don't have to rewrite your application every year. Because programming is about solving problems. But engineering is about maintaining those solutions over time.

Software development industry recovering from the crisis? 👉 July 2024: average 2.6% more proposals sent than in July 2023 👉 August: 6.8% more 👉 September: 12.7% more For the first time in almost 2 years, there were 3 consecutive months in which the average number of proposals created in Apropo per 1 company was higher compared to the same period in 2023. This means there were more new business opportunities than in the same period 1 year ago. 2024 started for the software development market with a reading within a statistical error range to decline in the following months and (seemingly) start coming back in Q3. Today, I attended an insightful presentation on the Vercel project by Petr Glaser 🤖, which highlighted a significant shift towards #PaaS solutions over traditional #devops roles. Vercel simplifies the deployment process by directly integrating with GitHub, automatically building from repositories as long as they're JavaScript-compatible. It offers dynamic preview environments for each branch, streamlines production setups, and incorporates essential observability tools. Notably, Vercel also supports services like #Postgresql, maintaining simplicity with basic yet effective options. The presentation addressed common frustrations with the #AWS web console, suggesting that platforms like Vercel are becoming essential for enhancing dev experience and efficiency in deploying apps on AWS. This approach poses an interesting dilemma: it's undoubtedly efficient and developer-friendly for smaller projects, providing immediate functionality. However, for larger, more complex projects, the lack of extensive customization might be a limitation. This leads to a broader question for the tech community: At what point does the convenience of a PaaS platform like Vercel become a trade-off for control and customization? And, would you advocate for using your company’s platform if your team is proficient in JavaScript and prefers simplicity over operational control? On the Importance of Client Feedback Emotional feedback is nice, but it doesn’t always help us identify specific areas for growth and improvement. That’s why, at Devurai, we’ve developed several types of surveys to get structured feedback from key stakeholders: - Quick Cooperation Survey: a short survey with three questions, designed to quickly assess the project’s health and identify potential risks. We conduct it monthly to ensure proactive monitoring. - Cooperation Survey: a more detailed survey, which I particularly value for its developmental feedback. It includes questions on delivery quality, management, problem-solving, and more. The goal is to understand what can be improved in upcoming releases or iterations. We usually conduct it after major releases or significant project phases, approximately twice a year. - Client Feedback Request: also a developmental survey with more questions, focused on evaluating the performance of employees working on an Outstaff basis. I’d be curious to know what types of surveys you use to assess stakeholder satisfaction and how often they're conducted.

Now you can choose things like: "1-2 sentences" for those quick overviews "1-2 paragraphs" when you need a bit more detail "3-5 bullet points" for easy scanning We've also set the default to 1-3 sentences to keep things concise.
