We wish Stefan B the best of luck and greatest wishes in his next career step. We will miss you!
Tuesday marked my last day in my role as Managing Director of Eurowings Europe . The past 3,5 years have been an exceptional journey. Together, we recovered from Covid, the largest crisis in our company’s history, and successfully restarted our operations. We expanded into the pan-European market, opening new bases in Prague and Stockholm, and launched operations in Graz, Düsseldorf, Hanover, and Nuremberg. We successfully transferred our company to Malta while maintaining full operational stability throughout the process. We took Eurowings Europe from a “startup” to the next level, not only in our company’s maturity but also by growing our fleet from 15 to 24 aircraft, with more to come. But most importantly, we welcomed hundreds of exceptional new colleagues to the Eurowings Europe team and further strengthened our great company culture, reflected in how we treat each-other, our commitment to serving our customers, and our dedication to going the extra mile. Looking back, it was not only about the big milestones, but also about the small moments. I am truly grateful for all those valuable personal connections made, whether in the office, working with our external partners, or during flight duty. Being able to dive into our daily operations regularly, also as pilot, has been a true privilege and a unique opportunity to get constant feedback on what was going well and what we needed to fix. As the saying goes, “Nothing is forever except change”. And so, after many years in different management roles, I have decided to allow some space for change. From this week onwards, I will take an extended break to learn, recalibrate and broaden my horizons, ready to embrace a new challenge in 2025. As of yesterday, my responsibilities are in the hands of the EW Operations team, led by our EW COO, Edi Wolfensberger, and my co-Managing Director, Jasmin Bumanowski. With you, the company is in the best of hands, and I am already excited to see Eurowings continue to climb to new heights. Thank you to all colleagues, partners and friends for your trust and support throughout my tenure. It has been a privilege to spend these years with you and I wish our company all the best and continued success!
