About us
FHRD (Malta Foundation for Human Resources Development) was set up to promote people management and development practices as well as the development of the human resource profession in Malta. The Foundation is an autonomous and independent body and it benefits from close working relationships with all constituted bodies, employers association and trade unions, leaders of industry and Government. The Foundation works in partnership with its corporate members from private and public sector organisations, the professional HR community of practitioners and service providers, and other key local players in the field of human resource management and development. On the international scene, FHRD has a formal agreement with the School of Management and the Centre for Labour Market Studies (CLMS), University of Leicester, UK, to act as its agent in Malta. FHRD on behalf the University of Leicester provides Certificate, Diploma, Masters and Doctorate programmes. In addition FHRD works closely with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). FHRD is a member of the European Association of Personnel Management (EAPM) and the World Federation of Personnel Management Associations (WFPMA) and is the first organisation on the Maltese Islands to have achieved the prestigious award of Investors in People Standard.

Our CEO attended the European Association for People Management EAPM Delegates Assembly in Cyprus yesterday. It was an insightful day. Well done to all involved 👏
🚀 KEYPOINTS FROM THE EAPM DELEGATES ASSEMBLY 2024 🚀 💥 In her opening speech, the EAPM President Berna Oztinaz highlighted the value of 36 European countries coming together, calling it "true gold". All 36 delegates were present! 💥 Martina Burulic was elected to be a Treasurer and she presented an overview of EAPM's financial status. 💥 Auditor Marita Salo provided a detailed report on the audit. 💥 Governance & Statutes points were voted on, presented by Head of EAPM Secretariat Rebecca Normand GradCG. 💥 Berna Oztinaz and Vice President David Ducheyne gave an update on EAPM’s strategy and achievements, while welcoming new full members: Armenia, Georgia, Serbia, and Azerbaijan (as an affiliate member). 💥 Working groups reported on their key achievements for the year: Communications, IHRD, Partnerships, Awards, EU, Events, Surveys & Insights. 💥 Kai Saard (Estonia, Eesti Personalijuhtimise Ühing PARE) was elected as a new EAPM board member starting January 2025. 💥 An overview of the budget and financial plans for next year was shared and voted. 💥 Board member Solveiga Grudienė interviewed EAPM's new members from Georgia: Salome Ghachava and Sergo Nozadze. 💥 In the afternoon, group work sessions were held for networking and generating ideas to support EAPM's working groups for continued success as well as the national associations lead by Dana Cavaleru, Kai H. Helfritz, Sigrún Kjartansdóttir, Ulrik Brix and Raffaele Credidio and others. A dynamic and insightful day, bringing HR leaders together for a stronger future in European HR management! The FHRD Professional Membership Scheme is an Individual Certification with three levels: Associate, Fellow, and Student. Prospective candidates will have the opportunity to submit applications for any level, provided that they meet the specified eligibility conditions. Individuals have the opportunity to commence by attaining the Associate Level and subsequently progress to the Fellow Level as they acquire further experience in the HR field.
