Head of Maintenance

At InterContinental Hotel, Malta we are seeking to recruit a strong Head of Maintenance, to ensure that our Hotel and plant are maintained in optimum condition and to manage the day-to-day maintenance operations.

The selected candidate will be responsible to manage and plan maintenance duties with the Rooms, Plant and Public Area Team leaders, to allocate the day-to-day duties to their respective teams, whilst ensuring adequate manning levels and liaising with operational departments to ensure repairs are carried out with minimal disruption to our hotel operations and our guests.

The Head of Maintenance shall also be responsible to ensure that urgent maintenance duties, repairs or emergency breakdowns are handled in a safe, efficient and effective manner whilst ensuring that preventive maintenance schedules are in place and major renovation projects are implemented, ensuring adherence to budgets and maintaining excellent working relationships with colleagues, suppliers contractors and all the relevant authorities and stakeholders.

The selected candidate should ideally have:-

• At least 3 years' experience in a similar position
• Ideally having previous experience in the Hospitality Industry
• Experience in general building maintenance or construction
• An electrical license A & B
• An Engineering Diploma or relevant qualification
• Excellent leadership, organization and project management skills
• Knowledge of local health & safety regulations and legislations related to the position
