𝗘𝗨 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗔𝗠𝗟 𝗹𝗮𝘄𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵  ⚖️ ✍🏼 The EU's new AML Regulation will enter into force on the 20th day following its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union on 19 June 2024, signalling the legal creation of the new authority. 🏛️💪 The Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA) shall set up its headquarters in Frankfurt in the first quarter of 2025 and start direct supervision of selected obliged entities in January 2028, with capacity to "simultaneously supervise up to 40 groups and entities". 🇩🇪🔎 If more than 40 entities meet the criteria for AMLA oversight, the regulator would then select the 40 organisations operating "in the highest number of member states." 🏦🇪🇺 #EU #AML #CFT #AntiMoneyLaundering #CounteringTerrorismFinancing #AMLA #Regulations #FinancialCrime

𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁-𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗡 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝗔𝗜)📝 The resolution prominently acknowledges 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗜 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 and achieving the 2030 sustainable development goals (𝗦𝗗𝗚𝘀).  ✍🏼 🌱 At the same time, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗜 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 and their detrimental impact on human rights is recognised. 🤖🧐 The content of this resolution by the United Nations will further 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗜 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 on the national and international level and marks a step in the “race to AI regulation”.  💪  🏛️  #resolution #SDGs #globaldevelopment #AI #Artificialintelligence #regulation #AItechnologies #AIregulation #humanrights
