Leading with Love: Lessons from Fatherhood and Leadership Valentine’s Day is a favorite in our family—a time to celebrate and spoil each other with chocolates, little gifts, and, for me, the best part: handwritten cards from my girls. This year’s gem from Tash (12) made me laugh: "Dad, you are old but still cool because you don't mind my music!" It’s a simple reminder that love is often shown in the smallest ways—like listening to her music (even when it's not my taste!). It matters to her, so it matters to me. This got me thinking: How do we lead with love? Through my time with Al, Tony, and Christo at Growth Matters International, I’ve seen that "love" in leadership appears through consistency: ✅ Consistency in what matters – showing up, supporting, and setting the right expectations. ✅ Consistency in decision-making – guiding execution through clarity and fairness. ✅ Consistency in empowering others – resisting the urge to give quick answers and instead allowing people to grow. This creates an environment where people feel safe, valued, and motivated—not just because of words on a wall, but because they experience it daily. As Simon Sinek says in Leaders Eat Last: “Leadership is not about being in charge. It is about taking care of those in your charge.” So, on this day of love, I ask: How do you lead with love? Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤️ P.S - The song APT from ROSe and Bruno Mars slaps #Leadership #LoveInLeadership #ValentinesDay #GrowthMatters #liferocks

  • 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐖𝐢𝐬𝐝𝐨𝐦 We’ve all sat through data-heavy presentations that barely left an impression. But a well-told story? That stays with us. Jennifer Aaker’s research shows that a story is 22 times more memorable than facts alone. Why? Because stories engage emotions, spark curiosity, and create connections. In sales, leadership, and business, the ability to tell a compelling story can mean the difference between being forgotten and making a lasting impact. How do you use storytelling in your work? • Distractions can be costly—whether in sales or in life. This story is a powerful reminder of what happens when we take our eyes off the goal. For sales managers, losing focus can mean: - Missing targets - Losing deals - Watching great people leave The solution? Stay locked in on these four key areas: Hitting the number – Keep your eyes on revenue and pipeline health. Executing the strategy – Drive the plan with intent and discipline. Leading through people – Coach, enable, and remove roadblocks. Increasing customer value – Solve real problems, not just push products. When you focus on what truly matters, you don’t just see obstacles—you navigate around them. What strategies help you stay on track? Let’s discuss in the comments.

I ran into a sign… literally. Blood everywhere, a cut-short run, and a painful lesson in focus. Why? Because my eyes weren’t on the prize. Even worse - it was a sign for a pharmacy! The same thing happens to sales managers. We get busy, distracted, and before we know it—BANG—we hit the metaphorical sign: ❌ Missing targets ❌ Losing deals ❌ Watching good people leave How do you avoid the crash? By staying focused on the four key areas of impact: ✅ Hitting the number – Keeping your eyes on revenue and pipeline health. ✅ Executing the strategy – Driving the plan with intent and discipline. ✅ Leading through people – Coaching, enabling, and removing roadblocks. ✅ Increasing customer value – Solving real problems, not just pushing products. When you stay locked in on these, you won’t just see the sign—you’ll navigate around it. Oh, and those four staples in my head? A painful reminder to stay focused. I had to finish it on Sunday. Lesson learned! Where do you see sales managers losing focus the most? #liferocks on the run #salesmanagement Growth Matters International
