  • The Lhaviyani Turtle Festival, organised by Atoll Marine Centre, took place this weekend on the island of Naifaru. The event brought together marine and ocean supporters from across the Maldives to raise awareness not only about sea turtle conservation but also other marine megafauna. NGOs, marine organisations, and sponsorship partners joined school children and locals for entertainment and educational activities today. While on Saturday, many presented and joined panel discussions at the second Atoll Marine Symposium under the title of ' Tides of Change - Our Ocean's Future.' Shark joined the event, representing Secret Paradise, and it will not surprise you to discover he put his artistic skills to use today! #lhaviyaniturtlefestival2024 #conservation #maldives

  • Last week, Ub and Yasin represented Secret Paradise at the Maldives Guesthouse Symposium hosted by Maldives Islamic Bank. The symposium included presentations and panel discussions on how to run guest houses more effectively in the country, with panelists offering ideas on how to promote and develop local tourism as a cultural tourism industry in Maldives, how to build a sustainable service culture and sustainability for the future. During the symposium, young creators were provided the opportunity to share tools and products that could be used to manage guesthouses, alongside companies providing various services to the sector. #Maldives #tourism #guesthouses

  • At Secret Paradise, we know there is no greater crisis facing the travel industry—and our planet—than climate change. The #Maldives, a destination on the front line of this global issue, is deeply affected by rising sea levels, shifting weather patterns, and the threat these changes pose to both local communities and our way of life. The team are currently completing 'Climate Justice' basic training, an online course provided by Tourism Cares, to better understand how climate change disproportionately impacts marginalized populations and how we can converse with our guests and advocate for solutions that benefit everyone. Well done to Archie and Shark who completed their training today. #climatechange #climatejustice #learning @tourismcares
