About us
Shire Railways Limited (SRL) is the youngest indigenous Malawian owned passenger and freight (cargo) operator in Malawi. SRL founded by its current Chief Executive Officer Edgar Chibaka and was incorporated in 2018 and granted a provisional Operator License in early 2019 to commence operations. SRL is regulated by the Malawi Government - Ministry of Transport (Rail Sub-Sector). Our business is built around PEOPLE - though we run trains but its our people who are our strength. We hire the best in class, smart and experienced people with a proactive customer focused with an can-do attitude. SRL staff have the we have the knowledge and experience to deliver.
