Mexican Iván Espinosa, new CEO of Nissan‼️ 🚙 Nissan continues to face challenges, including declining sales, internal instability since the 2018 departure of former chairman Carlos Ghosn, and repeated profit forecast cuts this fiscal year. ⚙️ In addition to competing with Chinese electric vehicle makers, Nissan is grappling with its slow hybrid rollout in the U.S. and the potential imposition of tariffs on vehicles exported from its key manufacturing hub in Mexico. It remains unclear whether Espinosa’s leadership will revive merger talks with Honda or attract investment from other partners. Source: https://lnkd.in/evZ-wXZC

Monterrey Aerocluster: Driving Aerospace Growth in Mexico 🛩️🇲🇽 The industry has shown double-digit growth and remains resilient beyond political changes. Key initiatives include certifying national companies under the AS9100 Aerospace Management Standard, promoting domestic raw material production, and strengthening supply chains with government-backed financing of up to 10 million pesos. Workforce development is also a priority, with partnerships among universities and research centers to train specialized engineers and technicians. Mexico Sets Record High of $36.87 Billion in Foreign Direct Investment in 2024 🎯 The manufacturing sector attracted 54% of the total FDI, with transportation equipment leading at 50%, followed by beverages and tobacco, computer equipment, chemicals, and basic metals. Geographically, Mexico City received the most investment ($14.43 billion, 39% of the total), followed by the State of Mexico (7%), Baja California (7%), Nuevo León (6%), and Chihuahua (4%). The top 10 states accounted for 79% of total FDI. 💵 This record reinforces Mexico’s role as a global manufacturing and export hub, driven by nearshoring trends. However, challenges like infrastructure, security, and legal certainty remain critical for sustaining and increasing FDI flows in the coming years. 📈 Source: https://lnkd.in/gvCKxA5B
