We empowered our Arvatorians, Yong Mintze and Alex Hong to represent Arvato Systems Malaysia at the recent Computer Science Tech Fest 2024 at University of Nottingham Malaysia for the Arvato Systems Malaysia UniConnect (AUC) initiative.   Alex led a sharing session with students of the Year 1-3 Computer Science faculty regarding the topic of "The Future of Quality Assurance: How ArtificiaI Intelligence is Redefining Software Testing". During his presentation, Alex expanded on the fundamentals of software quality assurance and how AI is able to play a leading role in it.   In addition, he also utilized ChatGPT to create sample test cases and explained how prompts on test cases can be used to generate scenarios that might have been missed out on during the initial prompt.   To wrap up the session, Dr. TAN CHYE CHEAH (Assistant Professor, School of Computer Science) presented Alex with a small token of appreciation for his sharing session. We are pleased to share that Arvato Systems Malaysia was recently invited as the evaluating panel for the Best Final Year Project Award Day 2024 of Monash University Malaysia's School of Information Technology.   It was certainly an eventful day filled with many promising and insightful proposals. Our evaluators (consisting of Tze Weng Ng, Business Unit Lead - Platform & Product Services, Boo Lim Cheong, Senior Technical Consultant, Eka Heksanov Lie, Senior Solutions Manager) definitely had their work cut out for them!    The students presented a series of well-crafted proposals and the 3x best idea each received cash prizes in the form of Touch & Go credits, which were presented by Chloe Gan, Human Resources Director & Head of Software Services, and Professor Raphael Phan, Deputy Head of School (Information Technology).   Alongside the pitches by students from the faculty, Nishi Kumari, Business Unit Lead - Quality Assurance Services, shared a brand presentation on Arvato Systems Malaysia, while Chin Yeow Tan, Business Unit Lead - Vidispine, and Seng Hock Ong, Business Unit Lead - Enterprise Services each shared on some useful career tips with the students.   We would like to extend our utmost gratitude to Lim Mei Kuan, Senior Lecturer, Internship Coordinator (CS & SE), Vishnu Monn Baskaran, Associate Head (Education) - School of IT, and the team at Monash University Malaysia for coordinating this initiative with us and making it an eventful one for the students. This recent Wellness Day, we invited our fellow Arvatorians to join us in basic health screening activities including glucose checks, blood pressure checks and physio postural screenings. The initiative, which is done in collaboration with Allianz Life Insurance Malaysia, was an opportunity for Arvatorians to keep track of their basic health markers and it was our way of helping employees to stay informed on their health and wellbeing. Alongside the basic health screenings, we also invited employees to a talk presented by Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon, Dr Ruhi Fadzlyana Binti Jailani from Columbia Asia Bukit Jalil. Dr Ruhi shared on the topic of "Treatment and Care for Gastric". The informative session was met with positive response by attendees who engaged with the presenters and asked follow-up questions to learn more about the topic. At Arvato Systems Malaysia, we are committed to empowering digital leaders and we believe that this first starts by empowering youths with skillsets in Information Technology that will serve as assets in the workplace of the future. With this in mind, our dedicated team from the Corporate Responsibility social group conceptualised the TechTrekkers program, an internal initiative geared towards enabling youths with opportunities to upskill in modules such as programming basics and IT security, as well as soft skills development like time management and the honing of interpersonal skills. The 5-month long programme recently culminated with the graduation ceremony of 26 youths, where teachers, guardians and volunteers joined in celebrating the graduates. Arvato Systems Malaysia's Managing Director, Benjamin Dorsch, joined the ceremony via a teleconference call from Germany to congratulate the youths for their efforts. "I would like to recognize the youths who have given their best and chosen to adopt a growth mindset in learning new skillsets through TechTrekkers. You should all be very proud of yourselves for taking this step forward and unlocking your great potential within," said Benjamin Dorsch during his opening speech at the TechTrekkers Graduation ceremony. The TechTrekkers team extends its heartfelt appreciation to its partners from the Local Education District, (the PPD Bangsar Pudu office), Mary Orphanage and partnering schools (SMK Seri Permaisuri, SMK Cheras, SMK Seri Tasik, SMK Bandar Tun Razak and SMK Cochrane) as well as all youths, volunteers and team members involved in driving this initiative. It was an exciting time of upskilling and continuous learning during our recent Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Malaysia User Group September meetup event here at Arvato Systems Malaysia.
