This collaboration elevates our total working capital financing to RM6.5 billion, empowering SMEs to embrace ESG principles, digitalisation, and strategic technology investments. The partnership, signed by Jaya Balan Kathiravalu, Head of SME Banking Malaysia, Group Commercial Banking, CIMB Bank and Sean Tan, Chief Business Officer, Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad, witnessed by Novan Amirudin, Group Chief Executive Officer, CIMB Group and Datuk Mohd Zamree Mohd Ishak, Chief Executive Officer, Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad, marks a decade of our collaboration with CGC, underscoring our long-standing commitment to SME development. Last week, CIMB co-hosted Invest Malaysia in Johor which attracted over 500 delegates from foreign fund managers and private equity investors with total assets under management (AUM) of US$13.5trillion. Officiated by YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia with special address by Chief Minister of Johor, Dato Onn Hafiz Ghazi, the conference emphasised Malaysia as a premier investment destination, supported by strong economic growth and a particular focus on Johor, as well as the recently launched Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JSSEZ). CIMB Group CEO, Novan Amirudin participated in a panel where he expounded the complementary strengths in manufacturing and services, focusing on managing currency volatility for businesses.
