Hola, #LatinAmerica! You were amazing. We've been present in the region for over 3 years now and our recent trip validated the strong desire we've seen for generosity and giving. With a population size of over 670 million, the diversity and dynamism of this land continue to wow us, and we're very excited about the growth potential for non-profits to expand their impact. Together with our charity partners, we're taking care of over 15,000 Latin American regular give donors (and growing). Despite this, recurring giving as a profitable revenue stream is not without its challenges, and we're using the power of data to address them. It may be true that call centres thrive on strict processes and KPI-driven conversations, but it is important that we make room for serendipitous encounters like this. Here’s a great reminder that donor relationships are nuanced, delicate, and built over time. ### “Once, I called a senior citizen to thank her for her generous donation. I was surprised to hear how excited and chatty she was. It turns out she was feeling very lonely, having not talked to anyone for a while. Carefully, she asked if I had time to chat with her for a bit. Well, guess what? I ended up having a nice 20-minute conversation with her. Now, that's something you won’t get to do in another call centre! It might have been a small gesture, but I believe our little chat made a big difference to her. It warmed my heart to know that I could give her some of the comforts she has provided to others through her donation. In today’s busy world, meaningful interactions don’t come by often.
