Job Purpose

• The Engineering Manager is accountable for leading the overall Dairies Maintenance department. Key role in leading and deliver the departmental and company set KPIs for SQDCSM (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Speed, Morale/Man).
• To lead and ensure Operation and Maintenance of Production and Utilities Systems, equipment, are in sustainable and functional condition and compliance to operating procedures, law and regulations, by performing effective preventive maintenance. To reduce the Unplanned Downtime (UPDT) and ensure continuity of operational system.
• Support and improve manufacturing capability by providing engineering support, training, and knowledge transfer to key equipment/process users.

What will you be doing?

Productivity

• Keep operations at high OEE rates of materials & machines within standards to minimize production losses & ensure low-cost operations.
• Monitor performance of the technicians, machines, and equipment to ensure productivity.
• Analyze Equipment availability, speed, and throughput weekly & conduct root cause analysis (including trending & documentation) on all deviations to target. Corrective action implemented where necessary.
• Ensure preventive maintenance activities are carried out accordingly and meeting quality objectives. Provide efficient and systematic preventive maintenance planning, execution, and engineering support.

Cost

• Oversee management of the departmental OPEX and CAPEX budget and ensure responsible practices in line with Company cash flow and contingency planning.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of plant financials.
• Yearly Budget preparation.
• Ensure effective Engineering spares management. Ensure sufficient and adequate Inventories, engineering spare and consumable items. Follow FIFO practice.
• Ensure stock checks are conducted according to the company’s guideline.

People Development and Capability

• Build and improve Manufacturing Capability. Provide efficient and systematic preventive maintenance planning, engineering support, training & knowledge transfer.
• People Development – Responsible to develop direct reports in areas of technical, leadership and managerial skill. Develop technical skill of local engineering team & maintenance team in line with the engineering standards and best practices.
• Provide regular coaching and feedback sessions to direct report.
• Plan and implement Engineering technical knowledges and skills transfer to Production teams according to the Training Needs and Skills Matrix Requirements.
• Develop a high-performance organization through implementation of best practice structure, process, policies and practices and ongoing development of management capability.

Safety & Environment

• Maintain a safe working environment and environmentally friendly operations by ensuring that the appropriate Safety Program and Environmental Management System are developed and put in place to secure employees and company property and comply with corporate and regulatory requirements.
• To ensure safety procedures and safe working methods are practiced in the departmental areas.
• Monitor team members for strict adherence to personal safety & other Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) related matters.
• Identify and manage SHE related matters at workplace, develop and update HIRADC & EIA for departmental areas.
• Ensure compliance to Environmental Management System ISO 14001 & ISO 45001, included Industrial Effluent Treatment System (IETS) discharge and waste management.

Manpower

• To ensure compliance of Labor law and SEDEX/SMETA’s requirement.
• Monitor & control overtime & cost to ensure continuous operations & efficiency.

General

• Instill a Continuous Improvement Culture and demonstrate ongoing improvement in manufacturing performance in the core areas of safety, quality, cost, delivery, and people, e.g., TPM, ICC, Kaizen, Suggestions, 5S, MDWT, Energy Savings, RPO, etc.
• Participate actively in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities.
• Lead and coordinate departmental new project implementation.
• Manage equipment supplier relationships & updates with the knowledge of relevant technologies and industry standards.
• Carry out assignment as assigned from superior from time to time.
