We are delighted to share that our Country CEO Junior Cho recently participated as a panel speaker at the National Climate Governance Summit 2024 (NCGS2024) organised by Climate Governance Malaysia. Junior offered invaluable insights on the topic "Case Studies on Increasing Resilience". Promoting resilience and sustainability in the face of climate change is a core part of our mission. The summit provided a fantastic opportunity to explore the innovative strategies and solutions that empower communities and businesses to adapt and thrive. Our Zurich Cares partner, Dr. Dzaeman Dzulkifli, Executive Director of the Tropical Rainforest Conservation and Research Centre (TRCRC) was also invited as a workshop speaker, where he spoke on the topic "Reforestation Best Practices", sharing essential knowledge and practical tools for implementing sustainable reforestation projects. On 26 September 2024, the Zurich Malaysia team took a meaningful step towards environmental conservation with a beach cleanup at Pantai Cunang, Tanjung Sepat, Banting, Selangor, as part of Climate Month. Through our collective efforts, we removed 500kg in waste, contributing to a cleaner environment and underscoring our commitment to caring for what matters. This initiative would not have been possible without the Zurichers who volunteered their precious time and energy, and the valuable support of Thanam Industry Sdn Bhd, who ensured the proper recycling of all collected materials. We're proud to share that our partnership with NalaGenetics was among the global finalists that made it through to the final Zurich Innovation Championship’s Demo Day! Together, we’ve developed a personalised care program for chronic disease management, empowering customers to manage conditions like cancer and cardiometabolic diseases more effectively. We have just wrapped up a successful 3-month accelerator program in partnership with NalaGenetics, inviting 100 customers to join the Nala Care Programme. Through this pilot, we tested the desirability, feasibility, and viability of our personalised care solution for chronic disease management. Now, we’re moving forward with plans for broader adoption. At Zurich Malaysia, we remain steadfast in our commitment to sustainability together with Epic Collective to build two additional houses for Orang Asli families this year. Our dedicated volunteers completed the first build on 20-22 September, followed by a successful second build on 4-6 October partnering with Pos Malaysia Berhad. Since 2019, Zurich volunteers have built 7 homes, with an additional 2 more later this year through the 1+1 Malaysia Madani Home Sponsorship, bringing the total to 9 homes.🏠 This initiative is further supported by the generosity of Zurich Malaysia employees and the Z Zurich Foundation through a joint fundraising campaign. It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Tan Sri Dato' Ahmad bin Mohd Don, who served with distinction as Chairman of Zurich Takaful Malaysia Berhad from 2005 to 2017 and Zurich Life Insurance Malaysia Berhad (formerly known as Malaysian Assurance Alliance Berhad) from 2006 to 2018. Tan Sri Dato' Ahmad Don's visionary leadership and dedication were pivotal in steering both organisations towards success and innovation. His contributions have left a lasting impact on the industry and on all who had the privilege of working with him. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and colleagues.
