Sobre nós
Who We Are Project Vita is a registered non-profit organization in Sweden, Mozambique and USA. How We Work At Project Vita, development comes from closing knowledge gaps between those who have access to knowledge and those who do not. For each project we form a team of foreign and local volunteers who work side by side to develop the community. We run a program that brings technical knowledge and building techniques together. What We Do Together with the community, Project Vita finds solutions to everyday challenges by introducing new techniques and technologies that can then be reproduced sustainably at low cost by community members to improve their quality of life. We believe the secret to sustainable leapfrog development is knowledge sharing. By creating a bridge between communities and volunteers, we aim to adapt their knowledge to local methods in order to empower community members to improve their living standard. What We Believe We believe that we can only make meaningful changes in other peoples lives if we walk in their shoes! Our supporters and volunteers are strongly encouraged to come live with us in the community to get a deeper understanding of the needs of the people whose lives they are helping. Only by working, living and walking side by side can we truly understand and help each other!

At the end of 2015, we started a exciting project to create a playground using up-cycled old tires. 🌟 This initiative was driven by the belief that every piece of waste has value, depending on how we choose to see it. We partnered with an architecture class from the local university, Pedagogica, and began by delivering lectures to future architects and engineers. 🎓🏗️ To provide students with hands-on experience and expose them to rural perspectives, we brought the students to the village. Our goal was to demonstrate them how local and recycled materials can be effectively used in designing play areas for children and young people. ♻️ #Mozambique #ProjectVita #Ruraldevelopment

It has now been a year since we partnered with BRIGHT Products on an incredible project 💡 • In rural Mozambique, access to energy is a major challenge. Connecting to the national grid is costly, and with such a vast country, expanding the main grid is a hard 🌍 • One effective solution for these communities and government infrastructures is smaller solar systems and lamps ☀️ • For generations, many rural communities have lived in complete darkness. The ability to charge a phone and have light at night is truly life-changing ✨ • We need to consider the profound impact that even a small amount of light can have in a home. Children gain additional hours each day to read, play, or do homework 📚 Over the course of a year, how many more hours do they get to read, and how will that impact their education? It’s not about providing everyone with a fridge or a TV, it’s about providing more LIGHT 💡 • Project Vita, 440 households, 1200 people in Linga Linga, Chicuque Rural Hospital , 315 traditional leaders, rural clinics, directors at 45 primary schools and 5 rural police stations are grateful for the support. More projects will soon benefit from this project🙌 • An extra thank you to Olle Elander that made this happen and Linnéa Hjort for all the amazing videos made during the project. • • • #Mozambiue #Sweden #Norway #Brightproducts #Africa #Energy

During this spring, Andreas Falk a student at KTH Royal Institute of Technology , Sweden has been doing his master thesis in collaboration with us at Project Vita. 🌱 By utilizing a holistic approach, with a combination of systemic and service design, he investigated how a community center can fulfill various needs of citizens of rural villages such as Linga Linga. 🏘️ The final result was a map of the local challenges 🗺️ and a community center concept to enhance democracy, local trading, education, and female entrepreneurship. 🗳️💼📚👩💼 Bachelor’s and master’s students from Swedish universities consistently provide us with practical and impactful solutions to challenges in Mozambique. Their ideas have the potential to directly elevate the living standards of people and communities in rural Mozambique. 🇲🇿 🇸🇪 Thank you so much Andreas Falk for your time with us🙌Now let’s inspire more rural solutions cross Mozambique and Africa🙌 • #Mozambique #Sweden #Development #Africa #Ruraldevelopment #lingalinga #kthstudent

We couldn’t agree more, the more we work together toward these needs, the greater our impact on communities and the world. 💧💦🌍 Providing clean water at health facilities is also crucial, which is why we’re dedicated to support clinics in this. • #waterforall #water #development #globalgoals #mozambique
Clean water is a right, not a privilege. Yet, billions of people lack access to safe drinking water and sanitation —and the climate emergency is making things worse. During this World Water Week, see how the #GlobalGoals aim to address the water crisis and ensure access for all: https://lnkd.in/eP_5DHqq

At Project Vita, we've been dedicated to developing sustainable solutions since 2015. 🌍 As we approach a decade of exploration and innovation, one key lesson stands out: there's no one-size-fits-all solution for the challenges faced in rural Mozambique. Each project has expanded our knowledge, experience, and understanding. 📚 These coming weeks we will update you on our past projects and our journey. ✨ By combining diverse cultures and expertise, we can identify solutions that truly meet the needs of the communities we support. 🤝 Our first project aimed to find affordable and sustainable housing solutions for rural Mozambique. We witnessed numerous homes deteriorating, with families living in poor conditions. 🏚️ At that time, there were few, if any, initiatives focused on providing simple, cost-effective housing for people in rural areas of Mozambique. If we want to change a big problem we need to find small solutions that millions of people can take and implement themselves. 🏡 Our initial challenge was determining what foundation to use. We chose car tires and old rice bags filled with three tons of crushed glass. 🚛♻️ Although we initially considered using stones, the cost was prohibitive. Instead, we followed a brewery truck to a garbage dump, where we saw waste pickers searching for food and items to ease their hunger and poverty. 🗑️🥖 Rather than collaborating with the factory responsible for the waste, we provided gloves and bags to the people at the dump and paid them for each bag they filled with glass bottles. By the end of the day, we had filled an entire truck with glass. 💪 🚛 Next, we began making adobe bricks (mud bricks with straw) alongside volunteers from Sweden and Mozambique. 🇸🇪🇲🇿 While people have built houses with mud for generations, not everyone uses fibers to reinforce the structure against rain. 🌧️ Our goal isn't to invent something new but to enhance what people already know, enabling them to improve their living standards if they choose. ✨ The key to development is to inspire and empower people to take ownership of the solutions and believing in themselves. 💡🙌 To achieve this, we must involve local leaders and community members, ensuring they feel apart of the solution. 🌍👥 #Mozambique #ProjectVita #RuralDevelopment #Housing #Naturalbuilding

🌍 “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” – African Proverb 🙏 For the past decade, we’ve been dedicated to working in rural Mozambique without the backing of larger NGOs or development aid. Our belief has always been that the right people will join us when the time is right, and together we can transform the lives of hundreds of Mozambican families and communities. 🇲🇿 Our vision is to become a beacon of change, demonstrating how development aid should and could be approached globally. While our current focus is on Mozambique, there are countless grassroots organizations across Africa that also need support and guidance to elevate their living standards and communities. ☀️ To our friends and supporters: this is just the beginning. Together, we will bring many positive changes to light, and we hope others will join us in setting a new standard for development aid. 🙏 What the people wants and need is and should always be the priority. Thank you again to LONGi Solar LONGi Solar Europe Senergia AB for making this happen and we hope we can do even greater things for the people in Mozambique and Africa. 💡 “Solar for All and Life for All” ☀️ #LingaLinga #Mozambique #Africa #LONGi #Senergia #ProjectVita #solar #CSR #development 🎥 Vídeo: Linnéa Hjort Will Han Anton Obrink Daniel Ong 王赐信 Michel Olofsson Linnéa Hjort Adam Levén Hanna Olausson Inger Strand Tim Ljunggren Simson Jakobsson Axel Arvefors casper arvefors Ann-Sofie Birkås
