  • Struggles with Visa Delays in Namibia’s Oil and Gas Sector The Namibia Petroleum Operators Association (NAMPOA) has raised concerns over the country’s visa policies, which are causing significant operational delays for oil and gas companies. The association is actively working with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security to find a common solution to the challenges posed by these policies. This dialogue involves input from NAMPOA members and has resulted in several recommendations being presented to the ministry. As Namibia’s oil exploration activities gain momentum, with companies like TotalEnergies, Galp Energia, Shell, QatarEnergy, ExxonMobil, and others conducting offshore drilling, the need for streamlined visa processes becomes more urgent. Currently, Namibia has expanded its visa requirements to include 33 countries, a move that has added layers of complexity to the operational landscape. With over 25 years of experience as a market leader, Intergate Immigration Namibia is uniquely positioned to navigate these challenges. Our longstanding relationship with the ministry and in-depth understanding of the intricacies involved in the visa application process allow us to ensure a smoother, quicker approval process, minimising delays and keeping your operations on track. • Tourism and Travel on the Rise July 2024 marked a significant boost in Namibia's tourism sector with passenger arrivals reaching an impressive 49,534. This milestone reflects the highest number of arrivals recorded this year and the peak since October 2023, as reported by Simonis Storm. While these numbers indicate a robust performance during the tourism peak season, there is still a journey to reach pre-pandemic levels observed in 2019. Breaking down the statistics, 44% of these arrivals were international travelers, 45% were regional visitors, and 11% were domestic passengers. Intergate Namibia Immigration is proud to play a vital role in the travel and tourism arena by facilitating travel visas and other key immigration services in Namibia, helping make these journeys possible. #intergatenamibia #namibiatravel #holidayvisa #workpermits #namibianvisas #smoothapplicationprocess
