Embracing Women’s Power in ICT and Community-Centered Connectivity in Nigeria. As part of the local Network (LocNet) initiative to integrate gender in the community-centered connectivity Initiative, On October 22nd, I successfully hosted an inspiring Women's Circle in Abuja, with key women who are making waves in shaping the future of women in the Technology space in Nigeria, during the meeting, powerful voices came to gather to reimagine the role of Women in Nigeria’s Information Communication Technology and Community Centered Connectivity space. The key takeaways from the meeting include: 1. Gender-inclusive Policies: Advocating for frameworks that can support women at every digital frontier, from policy to practice. 2. Strategic Education: ensuring women in rural have access to digital knowledge and skills tailored to their realities. 3. Community and Cultural Alignment: Building solutions that resonate with our local norms and values, making tech more accessible to every woman. Together, we tackle questions on what it takes to empower women in ICT, overcome obstacles, and leverage support networks. This dialogue is just a start, but with allies, mentorship, and determination, we’re shaping a future where every woman has the opportunity to lead, innovate, and thrive in Nigeria’s digital landscape. #DigitalInclusion #WomenInICT #CommunituNetworks #CommunityCentered-Connectivity #DigitalEmpowerment Association for Progressive Communications Kathleen Diga, PhD Maryam Lawan Gwadabe Khadijah El-Usman Risper Arose Catherine Kyalo Yesmin Salako Zainab Bala Suwaiba Muhammad Dankabo Mary Uduma Hauwa Buba Wakili Tope Ogundipe Centre for Information Technology and Development
