Jessie was never comfortably contained by the synthwave label, and this EP shows her breaking out. Defying all genres she takes synth-based pop music in several directions at once - mostly darker and more dramatic directions. "Fortress" in particular defies decades with it's state of the art production and timeless melody. It's a shame I had to download the Type O Negative cover from an evil box store, but it's definitely worth seeking out. Keep up the excellent work, Jessie. I need vinyl.
